Does Anyone Know If There Is A Damage Multiplier In Infinite?

Does anyone know if there is a weapon damage multiplier in this game? It certainly feels sometimes as if there is and would explain why it’s near impossible to win a 1v2.

If two people shoot an enemy does the second shot double in damage, third triple in damage or do all shot’s deal the same damage and just add together?

Example: Let’s say for example the BR deals 10 pts damage.

  • First shot = 10 total
  • Second shot = 20 total instead of just 10
  • Third shot = 30 instead of 10
  • Fourth shot = 40 instead of 10

So instead of each shot counting as 10 for a total of 40 damage points dealt the damage multiplies and damage done is really 100.

Not really sure if I’m explaining what I’m trying to say correctly or not. The reason I ask is while playing Halo MCC more recently I’ve noticed that “team” shooting isn’t nearly as much of an issue. Where as Infinites entire gunplay relies heavily on team shooting.

One of the core fun features of all Halo’s has been the ability to use skill to achieve a triple or overkill etc… while this is an easy feature in all previous Halo’s it’s a massive chore in Infinite. Mainly only possible if your teammates have enemies at half health or you have a power weapon/vehicle. (Outside of SWAT of course)

Might be a dumb question but something just seems different about Infinite. What is your guys thoughts?

No, there’s no damage multiplier and winning a 1v2 is not impossible unless your foes both have decent shot placement.

In ranked at high diamond/onyx level it’s almost impossible. It just seems weird that this game is so much more reliant on team shooting then past Halo’s.

I mean you generally shouldn’t be soloing like that yeah. But there’s no multiplier.

I don’t usually. Sometimes I spawn on the opposite side of the map from my team however and then I’m forced too. But still in general Halo was always a good 50/50 mix between personal skill and team work. This game is 100% team work.

At higher skill levels you do generally need to coordinate. But usually calling out locations or enemies with your ping does that job well, and it IS good to stick to a group - unless you’re very sure you can flank.

As far as I’m aware…no. If you’re in a 1v2 playing against Diamond/Onyx level players then you should be receiving twice as much damage as giving out if you’re all hitting your shots. Another issue with 1v2 scenarios I find is that the aim assist can easily throw off your aim if they are close or over lapping each other so your damage can be distributed between 2 players and not even get a trade.

I’ve noticed that aim assist issue as well. Especially when two enemies are phased together. I hit about 95% of my shots if not more. Half don’t register though so it never matters. I honestly feel like there is some sort damage multiplier in this game though. It’s just so different from past Halo’s. Especially after playing a lot on MCC recently it’s noticeable.
