Hello, does anyone have a full list of requirements for levels 1-5 for each commendation? I can’t seem to find them anywhere, and whenever I google or search it here, I get the cookie cutter “You get the armor at level 3 and the helmet at level 5”.
Example: how many kills total to go from level 1 to max level 5 for the spartan kill commendations?

The reason I was asking is because I have a friend who doesn’t play Halo (he only plays MMO’s) and I’ve been telling him how hard this armor is to get. Since he’s a snarky MMO player, he says things like “there isn’t such a thing as a grind in FPS”. So I’ve been trying to find a full list for all levels combined to show him that it actually is one hell of a grind.

It’s tricky because it depends on how you get the kills. For example Kill enemy Spartans level 5 is 486,000. (I don’t remember level 4 and earlier). Headshots at level 4 is 144,000. You could kill an enemy spartan with a headshot and count towards both I assume. The highest totals i know of: level 5 sniper medals 14,600. Level 5 melee 48,600. Level 5 grenade 38,900. Level 5 kill with a standard weapon 388,900. level 5 covenant 19,400. level 5 promethean 29,200
It’s safe to say it takes a million kills no matter what once you factor all 5 levels of all kill commendations.
This video does an accurate job at describing the numbers for kill commendations. While it’s not the main subject of the video, it is the main focus (Idk if that makes sense, I’m tired lol)
Oh, okay. Well the easiest way would be to click random spartan companies until you find out each level’s max spartan kills for each commendation and add them up. Of course, a certain type of kill may count for more than one commendation, but your friend doesn’t need to know that.
I’ll help you out by giving you the total spartan kills for just level 5 which is 1,552,030.

Ha, your friend couldn’t be more wrong.
Collectively killing 1,000,000 people as a 100 man group is daunting. And it’s not just killing them, it’s killing in specific ways.
You can see the list if you’re in a Spartan Company, but I’m not sure if you can see if you aren’t in one.

Depending on the medal it can be. My company had to suffer through most of First strike medals before infection came and with all the kills that we got when going for first strikes, it very well can get up to a million easy.

The First Strike commendation is best achieved by playing round-based games like Breakout and the aforementioned Infection.
Per game, each Breakout session yields a maximum of 5 First Strike medals, while each Infection session yields a maximum of 4 First Strike medals.

Really I’d let your friend know how specific some of the commendations are like “Forgot to pay the toll.” Where you need to kill the driver of a vehicle using a sniper rifle. It’s not something that naturally comes in gameplay like head shots or power weapon kills. Companies after the armor/helmet will dedicate time to solely focus on that objective.
I wonder why the farming is happening.

easily over a million 1 year later and my company still doesnt have the helmet.
Thanks for all the info guys! All of that time compiling and my friend still thinks that this is nothing :P. I guess from his perspective, 1 million kills in various ways isn’t as daunting as farming 200 million exp in each stat in Runescape. To each their own lol
