Does anyone ever get Rolling Economy lvl 2?

Rolling Economy lvl 2, does anyone ever put 2 leader points into this passive power?

I personally have never put 2 LP’s into Rolling Eco, I don’t really see the incentive. Rolling Eco lvl 1 is great and is always an instant buy when playing as Forge, but after the first couple minutes my eco is rolling on its own, and it seems smarter to choose another leader power.

Do you guys ever put 2 LP’s into Rolling Eco? Is there any situation that you might?

What are your thoughts or experiences on this?

The only way I can see this being used, is if a battle at Tech 1 or Tech 2 is going on for way longer than needed or you just want to out produce another Forge in a mirror match. It kind of reminds me of a Voridus mirror match where the people buy things like Infusion Wake, Brute Grenadier Drop, or the Voridus Assault Pack just to cover up the other person’s Infusion.

Yeah I guess maybe a battle at tech 1, I still feel the incentive for Rolling Eco lvl2 is not there.

Maybe if lvl 2 gave you automatic upgraded supply pads and generators, similar to how Forge was in HW1

I’d probably get lvl2 if that was the case.

Always get it.

RE2 is for a T1 ForgeHog
Pelican is for rush
Lotus Mine is for QuickTech into hogs.

The other one’s seem self explanatory but I’ll explain the lotus mine.

You can combo your hog rams for easy
lotus mine kills, this is especially effective when against other hogs.

You can also use them defensively against other hogs too, simply drop the mines just after they ram you, When timed right you can easily kill 20 pop hogs for only 75/75.

That’s a pretty cool strat for the Lotus Mine, I’ve never thought of that before.
Can you explain the RE2 a little more, how does that help you get T1 Forge Hog, I usually have my forge hog out before I’ve even earned my 2nd LP.

Do you really?? Elaborate please.

To build and upgraded a forge hog on T1 is going to cost you alot of Energy (625)
With that much energy being dumped youre going to need a 2nd gen to get T2 at a reasonable time.
RE2 lets you upgraded that 2nd gen for cheap but also lets you upgraded all your supply pads right away after you hit T2 so you’ll kinda get this boom of supplys and energy on T2 which should help you come back from delaying your tech.

Edit:
Just going into more detail.
The point in forge hog on T1 is so that you can harass your opponent (Denied expos/minis)
However if your opponent is playing a leader that can deal with forge hog on T1 then its best to choose one of the other two strategys because losing a forge hog on T1 is Really baad fortunately there is only 3 leaders that can pull it off consistently.

#ForgeOPplsnerf.

Yes going gen first and not upgrading any pads until the 2nd leader power and tech 2 is a for real strat on early wary hogs rush.

oh yeah I could see RE lvl2 paying off in that situation

Gen first. Upgrade it imedieatly with Roll economy. Pad. upragede it immediately. Get a jackrabbit. Scout. Another pad don’t upgrade anything until your next leader point. With the jackrabbit you can steal other minbases off the bat and you can already afford it. Unless you want to play supper aggressive at this point you can play consertive and go pads on mini bases. Scout tho. Still one gen perhaps a barracks definitely war council on main. Unless at some point between your first and second leader point you feel threatened, get Roll 2. You can crash a pad on your main and get your second gen. And you can expand very quickly and still have have enough supply’s to pump units out all the while. Once Roll 2 is out upgrade everything you can. It’s insanely cheap and fast. Your economy will be insane at this point.
The mines are a good option as well, but I only get these if I feel threatened at the start. Get heavy metal later when you are trying to crack a base and you already have your grizzled drop.

Tried RE 2 last night. Wasnt bad at all. Definitely noticed an improvement

Awesome, thanks for sharing. I have never thought of that technique, pretty cool.
It makes sense tho, I guess I never tried RE2 cuz I was more concerned with being aggressive or defensive and I usualy grab Heavy Metal on my 2nd LP.

Rolling Economy is hell alot better than Heavy Metal, which is also great. Teir 2 depends if your eco is falling short while exspanding or your eco needs to be better than your enemy. Unless your fighting Forge or Pavium, i’ll never just waste a second point unless I “need” it as firepower at that point is more important.

Always grab Roll2. Plus turret/base upgrades. Expos are nice and cheap. While your enemy is expo 1. Your on 2 maybe three. With a good income to start micro good army. Never fails me. That many bases the enemy ended up as a turtle. And by the time they think they are making good moves. Boom your massive army at 8 minuets is busting the doors in. Hogs T1. Infantry at T2. Flamers, snipers, and hogs. GG 10.

That’s something I never realized, how do you differentiate between your own infusion and someone elses? I know that it burns whatever color you are currently when using Cataclysm, but its just black goo when its on the ground.

This also begs the question, does an enemy Yap’s methane debuff my grunts and Locusts?

It’s weird in a Voridus mirror. You see Infusion and you think it’s yours but there is a slight tint to the Infusion color to know which is yours even though it’s a dark black. In a mirror match the goal is make the person waste their Infusion just so you can drop yours over it. That’s probably the only time I’ve seen Brute Grenadiers replace mainline grunts in a match. It would help if we could suck up the other person’s Infusion but that would be OP as hell.
