Fail when using the Rocket Launcher? I’ve started avoiding it when I can because I often end up killing my self with it. I used to think I was invincible every time I picked one up, but usually I get way too excited when I see an enemy and I’ll end up just shooting the ground or wall in front of me and missing the person or committing suicide, it’s pretty sad.
I’m not gonna even get started with how often I mess up with the Incineration Cannon.
Anyone else seem to have this issue? lol

Rocket Launchers are a pain in the $@!# for me. I always try to aim at the ground, and, for some weird reason, I get paired up with people that tend to suffer from ADHD, lol. They constantly jump, making it so that I have to fire two rockets just to kill ONE person. This means I get about three kills with a FULL Rocket Launcher. sigh
I am sadly in your club lol.
Much easier to use if you have a Jetpack…but I tend to prefer Camo or Auto Sentry
Lol I wreck havoc with the rockets. It’s hard not to IMO. How’d you get Breach being so bad with rockets? Lol
I miss the ability to betray solely for the sheer enjoyment of going for a suicide betrayal splatter with a blown up mongoose.
I have a few double kills from driving at enemy’s, shooting the ground with the rocket launcher and having the husk of my blown up mongoose run over a couple of -Yoinks!-.

Halo 4 changed the Rocket Launcher. At least, that’s my excuse.

It took a while, trust me. Thanks to Fiesta before they removed it and put in Classic, and also base camping in Dominion. I still can get kills with it, but it usually results in very few and then my suicide.

I miss Fiesta. I don’t particularly care for Fiesta Classic. It’s still fun, but it seems a little less fair.
If feel like the Incendiary Canon is easier to fail with because of the splash projectiles. Otherwise, avoid shooting the Rocket Launcher in front of walls.
I’ve seen this and experienced it as well; I’ve had good luck w/ both incineration cannon and rockets by 1) taking it slow - everyone rushes you in this game so just wait for the rushers or only target people in sections of the map where you have an advantage w/ rockets (see 2 and 3), 2) jump (or better yet jet pack up a bit if you have JP) to get a height advantage and then lead them a bit, aiming for the ground where they will be when the rocket hits (I aim for the feet), and 3) stay out of narrow confines like the hallways of Adrift because of the splash damage and because you can’t jump high enough to get the right upward angle - aiming into these areas is great, but on average you want to be outside aiming in or up higher and aiming down.
The biggest problem I see w/ people and IC/R’s is just that they have no patience - take your time w/ them and you can get guaranteed kills. I do a lot of running when I have them to make sure the engagement is one I can win. This is particularly true w/ IC - you only have one shot at a time and the reload time is long, so you don’t want to rush 3 people who are spread out with it. Pick one off one or two at a time so you have time to reload, and only rush 3 people if they are all hanging together. Using this strategy I will typically run out of ammo w/ both weapons before I die, and usually have at least a killing spree from them.

Thanks for the tips, I already know most of them though. I just am usually careless with the rockets because I think nobody can kill me. I’m put into a lot of close-quarters situations with the Rockets and I end up shooting the ground or wall closest to me and then suicide bombing the enemy. It is in no way bothersome for me, I just made this thread to see how often this happens for other players.
hmm not really
in all my halo 4 history i have just blow my self up 2 times
1- to kill a guy with another rocket (double suicide) epic FAIL XD
2- and wild lag appear!!!
from being in a deadly distance for my enemy, troll lag teleported me right in front of him after i fire the rocket killing my self and him.
but out of that normally is my double kill favorite xD or even higher multikiller
I’ve been banned from using heavy weapons for this very reason. I’m more lethal to myself than the enemy when I use heavy weapons.
Not just the rocket launcher, but the fuel rod, sticky detonator, plasma grenades, and everything else explosive. I’m the kind of person who sticks himself every time I use plasma grenades.
If it’s not a precision weapon or a shotgun, I can’t seem to use it.
OP, like someone prev. said, Halo 4 did change the Rocket Launcher. In some cases, the Rocket has failed me, b/c the explosion radius seems short. If you remember Reach, on Powerhouse, the explosion radius of the Rocket was pretty big, if you shot the rocket inside the small building right by the gate. Sometimes, when lags started to happen, the Rockets would explode in front of me instead of firing to the designated spot.

My fail weapon is the Spartan Laser. Some people are pro with it. Me? I am so useless with it, that I do not even try to pick it up.
