Does anyone else hope/want Michael Wincott back

It is inevitable that 343 will remake H3 down the line for the next gen systems given their track record. With what I have seen and the excellence they have brought to these anniversary games it is a hope that they right an issue I feel needs to be corrected. That is bringing Michael Wincott back to voice Prophet of Truth for Halo 3 when the Anniversary rolls around. This is, by no means, gamebreaking but with the manner that they have improved nearly every segment of gameplay from the first two and really tightened them up as far as lore, background and everything in between, I feel it really would be worth while to see if he would come back and voice Truth for the third installment.

I am making this thread for one purpose. I believe if enough agreement takes place on this topic, 343 will take notice and will, at the very least, give it a try to satisfy the fan base and see if he will come back to reprise the role. From a game perspective, Stamp will still be voicing Truth if the player wishes to not play the upgraded version but if they do, I simply feel it would be amazing from a continuity and, frankly voice standpoint, that Wincott comes back. As far as I am concerned, Wincott is the Prophet of Truth. His voice is so flawless for that role that there has to be some way to bring him back for that third installment.

Thanks for your time guys and I speculate many of my fellow gamer’s feel the same as I do on this so hopefully we can get their attention and sway them to tighten up the continuity by doing this. With the universal success of Halo, I doubt it would take much convincing for Wincott to come back for this final hoorah to his character.

I believe the whole point of the MCC was to avoid making a Halo 3: Anniversary, or at least i hope that was the thinking process, behind it.

Anyway, as much as i would love Wincott to return, i’m going to have to disagree, for two reasons:

  • It is unethical to replace one voice actor’s work and efforts, with another, simply because “the community prefers it”. In fact, its absurd. Sorry to say, but it will never happen, because people should have their work respected, and preserved for what it is.- Apparently according to Bungie, the reason he was replaced was because he was unwilling to return. Though, i question the validity of this, given that they changed the actor for Miranda Keyes, between Halos 2&3, because they wanted a woman “with a more prominent Canadian accent”.So yeah, the sad Truth (lol) of the matter is, Wincott won’t come back, any time soon.

I miss Wincott. He brought a lot to Truth; deceptive, calm, patient, reserved. Then Stamp just turned him into an over-the-top generic bad guy.

Don’t get me started on how PISSED I would be if Halo 3 is remade. Seriously, I passionately despise that idea and will do all that I can to ensure that it NEVER happens.

But on the subject, WarmerToast is correct.

Yeah, I felt like Truth’s death was less satisfying in Halo 3 with Stamp’s voice. In Halo 2 he seemed so untouchable. You couldn’t wait to get your hands on him.

I agree. Wincott… man… everytime I hear him in H2 again. It’s just so perfect for that character.
