That it at least seems that there is a limit to how many playlists 343 can put up at one time? In the bulletin today they stated that they will be keeping Team Regicide and SWAT (both great playlists) but have to drop KOTH for Crimson MP playlist. What is up with that?
What reasons would you come up with for possible explanations?
Pretend you are 343i, what reasons do you think could be plausible? Ex. technological, resource-space, time, etc.
Its probably server resource related, combined with the fear of fracturing the playerbase further. To many modes means less people in each mode to actualy play with/against. Sensible option is to rotate lists till you have an accurate gauge of the most popular modes and then stick them in with one or two in permanent rotation.

It is not possible that 343 do not have the server space to put more than 8 playlists up considering that Halo 3 had 15 up at times.
This is about forcing players into new gametypes.

That is a possible reason too.
dunno - seems like the lowest playlist should get the boot. So flood or ffa reg should go away
They need to condense the playlists and add back classic ones if anything ala team objective, team slayer, big team overall, free for all. ESPECIALLY now that people can join mid game, it shouldnt be an issue that people might leave because they dont like the gametype.
The playlists have like 1000 people in them at times, its absolutely pathetic
-Team Slayer
-Team Doubles
-Team Objective
-Big Team(WITH OBJECTIVES!!!)
-Swat(I dont play it but apparently its loved)
-Lone Wolves
-Action Sack(maybe get to finally play some grifball?)
-Dominion(unique enough to grant its own playlist)
-Rotational playlists like now
I dont see any reason for many more playlists than this, I obviously may have forgotten a few, but its a friggin mess right now.
It’s simple math. More playlists = fewer players per playlist.
FFA Regicide needs to go. And I agree I think that they need to put playlists together and give us gametypes a lot of the community has been waiting for (FFA playlist and Griffball especially).
I don’t see why they don’t just combine the objective playlists like Reach did. Combine oddball and KOTH, replace FFA Regicide with normal FFA, and give us an objective BTB. Problem solved. I didn’t say add doubles because bsangel said it will be added in 2013.

absolutely correct and as much has been said by 343, they are getting numbers and watching population to determine what needs to be rotational and what needs to be permanent. this is the correct solution. in the end i beleive it will look something like this.
team slayer permanent (infinity and pro)
btb permanent (objective and slayer)
swat permanent likely to remain slayer only
team objective, multi team on rotation (koth regicide ctf oddball)
rumble pit/lone wolves (objective and slayer)
dlc playlist temporary
shotty snipers, flood, team doubles, on rotation
action sack, community, classic, grifball, on rotation
all thats in () may remain seperate choices or mixed. personally i think we can do without the dlc playlist and i do hope people actually have the map packs from now on so we can actually use them in the regular lists, and by community i refer to rocket hog slayer, or mantis koth, static hill koth, or any community made version of race or juggernaut or whatever. this will also count for community maps as i dont think 343 liked having them in regular playlists in reach, i know i didnt except for the bungie forged remakes.
Even though it’s less played I hope they keep flood, it’s nice to play after a few rounds of everything else.
