I was wondering, does anyone actually like this feature? I think it REALLY needs to go. 4/5 games i join in BTB are already in progress, one i joined yesterday was 1 kill from being over. WHAT THE HELL.
Now 80% of the time i join, people have gotten kills already. So there goes trying to get the top amount of kills. And initial powerweapons/vehicles? Forget about it, those are already gone too.
This is really starting to tick me off, anyone else feel the same way?
i do actually enjoy it. keeps teams even it always sucked balls in reach when half your team or more would quit out within the first few minutes.
What i cannot stand is when a game starts and and only 8 out 16 players have loaded into the game. this seems to happen frequently in BTB for me. had a game where the first 3 minutes it was 2 on 6. i luckily was on the team of 2. which was (a bundle of sticks).

Well i hate it, but yes i suppose tweaks would do, depending what they are. I think there should be a filter, or that you only join GamesInProgress if you quit alot yourself.
And for killcams, i think they should be gone by default (even when the option is on) but press X to start it, or something like that. 95% of the time i hate it, but its good when im confused if a teammate killed me or some random god-nade killed me.
I like it when I’m the one with teammates joining. I’ve literally joined a match as the “defeat” screen came up though, so it could use some tweaks to prevent that from happening. I don’t care about the loss, it’s the 5 minutes of loading I go through getting into the match, exiting the match, etc that shouldn’t have happened to begin with.

Well, a proper quitting ban or reward for completion would solve it for the most part.
Secondly, i hate that too. Its sad 343i has to get rid of alot of the equal/fairness so they can appeal to some -Yoink- who wont wait 2 seconds.
it would be really annoying on a game like mlg where one team has more people for the initial rush, losing PW and map control instantly.
When some -Yoink- on my team betrays me because he’s a little girl, I can boot him and have someone new join in his place.
As for joining games that are almost over or my team is losing, doesn’t happen to me much. When it does, i doesn’t bother me. I’ve been playing Battlefield and Call of Duty for years, among other FPS games, that have had JIP for years.
It doesn’t bother me a bit, but I’m used to BF3, plus I’m not worried about stats and W/L, I just play to have fun and win if possible. Most of the time I’m joining mid game, so I’ll snag a Banshee and wreak havok for my new teammates.

I usually end up more confused after watching the kill cams than I was when I died. They’re so laggy half the time it shows the guy who killed me shooting a wall for the entirety of the kill cam.
I think on paper JIP is a clever idea (for social, not ranked (although we don’t have that yet). It is in theory to keep teams balanced if people leave, and allow people to get into games quicker.
However the current system has problems as it is:
Games can start 1v1, 1v3 or any random number. If it is 3v4 I could kind of see the benefit, and for big team slayer 6v7/7v8 is fin, but not any less than that.
People joining games that are already x amount through or at a point where there is no chance of winning.
I swear I’ve had times where it started as 1v1 and 2 people have joined my team before the opponent has gained any players, although I may be mistaken.
The system, whilst it should speed up gameplay, doesn’t. Many times it still takes a long time to find a game, load it up and join. JIP in COD is a lot quicker and more efficient.
This system currently leads to people thinking it is acceptable to quit and leave as they choose, without punishment. This is more a banhammer thing, but if you leave a game you should wait until the game is finished. JIP improves even games, but promotes people quitting.
I’m sure some people quit because of poor connection, but there is yet to be a filter for region or good connection on the search preferences yet.
For me, I think the system should allow you to choose to JIP or not, or if it is locked on, show you the game stats and give you the option to join or search again.
I like it. They just need to tweak it so that a game won’t start without a full roster or at least even teams. It would also be nice if there was an option to disable it with a warning that pops up saying MM times will be increased by selecting this.
It’s really not that hard of a concept and I feel it was overlooked.
