Does anyone actually like AAs/Ordnance?

T4r.

The concept of AA’s, yes.

The concept of ordnance, not particularly.

I always thought they should have converted Equipment and AAs into specialized grenades. The dynamics of tossing a Bubble shield or a grenade that act like a Man Cannon would be so fast paced and interesting in usage. So much fun.

Compared to Reach? Yes.

Compared to Halo 3 Equipment? Maybe. I wish the Halo 4 AAs had more applications, besides combat.

Jetpack obviously has more.

Hardlight Shield helps with launches (let’s you get at third person look and survive hard impacts).

Thrusting at enemies with Thruster Pack makes them dive and can allow you to slide past closing doors (feels like parkour). But it’s only on Composer.

The rest are only good for combat.

I guess Camo can let you get a closer look at enemies if they haven’t spotted you. Promethean Vision in some ways does help light up surroundings. Sending a Hologram near a Banshee cloaks it and I know a place on Composer where it glitches into the map for a while. :stuck_out_tongue:

If there’s one thing I don’t like about H4’s AAs, it’s that there’s no hologram for them (they all look like, sans Jetpack) and there’s no noticeable ‘pick up’ text (sometimes, I end up with an unwanted AA and never notice it until later).

I like AA’s. Now I always get the choice which weapon I start with.

I sometimes despised getting stuck with ar starts in 3 and Reach. Lone wolves ar’s on snowbound= super lame.

Yup, I wish there were more options.

I despise them both. In a social playlist, maybe, but in any other context, absolutely not, at least not as something that you spawn with. I played a game of team doubles last night where both enemies used invisibility as often as they could, through the whole match. It is simply not fun. Especially if they get a sniper from personal ordnance.

I like AA’s. Though I’m don’t like Jetpack or Camo. I believe Jetpack should just be gotten rid of (I gave it a second chance). And I believe Camo should become like OS, DB, and SB once again like CE-3 was like (It didn’t need a second chance).

I like Ordnance. Though I don’t like the random idea, nor the idea of PO including power weapons like sniper rifles or rocket launchers.

I love AA’s (especially my thruster pack). Ordanance is cool, it does get annoying when the entire enemy team is rocking one-shot power weapons.

I believe AAs & Ordnance are a good addition to Halo, but they just weren’t implemented right in the latest title. If 343i can learn from their mistakes (and hopefully take some suggestions from the community into consideration), then I’m confident that we’ll see a better iteration of them in the next sequel.

Both could function better. I have more hope for AAs than Ordnance. I think ordnance goes against what halo is though. The reward for getting a kill in halo is that you got a kill and the other guy is dead, we don’t need magical presents from the sky.

AAs on the other hand are pretty original in concept and if balanced properly, the can be pretty interesting, although I think I would prefer pickups.

I think both can work in a halo setting, AA will always need tweaking, but ordnance is no where near developed enough to take over the main playlist in the series.

I have hope yet.

yes to both.

I like both. Yes they need balancing here and there but i believe a good competitive playlist can be made with them.

I’ve played with this series for 12 years, its time to change things up a little.

yes to both. the occasional tweak will be necessary but i feel we have the DNA for something truly awesome in H5.

Yes to both.

Really dislike both. AA should be like Halo 3 where you pick them up off the ground etc.

AA’s yes, ordnance only as a setting.

Marked neutral/team ordnance is good for me though.

Personally I like both of 'em. AA’s are finally balanced out pretty well, ordinances are a bit random but everyone have a chance to gain an advantage since there is no weak weapon in this game. It’s keeps the game fresh and you also can over think your enemies. Every AA has it’s own role, it’s nice to see 343 let players to role their preferred way and sometimes a needler could be a better option than a rocket launcher. It’s only depends on your play style.

I found the tactical packages & support upgrades are also balanced out pretty well. The “nemesis” upgrade for example. A lot players says it’s useless but when you got sniped out in Ragnarok I think everyone wants to know where is the shot came from. Also it’s good for team players especially if you’re use the call outs in game. There is no problem with them, they do not give too big advantage, you just have to be clever. =)

personally I love them both.

I think AA’s add another level of strategy and game play. I also am happy with PO in the infinity slayer game types. I find it much more fun earning my power weapons than just camping one spot the entire map and waiting for the weapons to spawn.

In my opinion AAs ruined HR and was the first step for the “Halo Downfall”, H4 with AAs + Ordenances is worst than Reach yet.
