It’s cool to have a back story for everything but as far as gameplay goes, no I don’t care.

Maybe not Canon canon. but maybe an alternate canon?
I think it’s kind of cool that 343 at least tried to make canonical sense of the MP, but I really don’t care, to be honest. I also think they could have implemented it a little bit better.

I have played reach but I am referring to Halo 4 and 5s MP being cannon which is the Amin reason why there are no playable elites. How stupid do you think I am?

Well it seems to me that it does matter, because of this new “cannon” 343 has introduced, we’ve lost Elites. I’d say it has harmed the gameplay experience for players.
Personally I don’t really care. But any multiplayer should not be cannon. It just doesn’t make sense for it to be.

It is a made up, non-fact to claim the missing Elites is due to canon. The very fact that the Spartans and Elites trained together on the Anvil means it’s more than possible to have Elites in the simulation.
Resources and gameplay come first. Reach balanced Elites into gameplay as asymmetrical avatars, where before, they were imbalanced but symmetrically-intended. That particular gameplay came about from over 7 years of Halo tinkering.
Halo4 was an attempt to go one way with gameplay. It was redirected to what Halo5 is now.
Due to both a redirection of gameplay ideals, and moving onto the W10-OS platform for programming, Elites and many other once had features have to take a backseat moving forward.
That we used to play as Spartans in actual locations, even training facilities and such, but now it’s a simulation, creating a simul’ception of experiences, are you sure there are limits?
Forge was the moment where “simulation” become part of what we could build. Semi-custom armour let us be ourselves within the universe… We’ve always been canon in MP.

this gives me curious, i always read the information on the maps since 2001, and after playing Halo online, i come to the conclusion that it is canon, the story is simple, the UNSC invented a war simulator to train spartans ii , and eventually the simulator evolved and is now used for entertainment, for spartans iv aboard the infinity, elites were in the simulator too as part of an alliance with the swords of Sanghelios, but are not present in Halo 4.5 because the simulators with elites are only in bottle ships

If anything they should make it so that it’s our own mini Red vs. Blue thing and we’re all at various outposts with the top ranking players being considered their own Sarge and/or Church.
I have no idea what I just said but it’s better than the canon reasons.

I can see why it would be difficult because of a platform transition but I mean… common. And as far as MP always being canon, I’d go talk to talk to some of the original Halo CE creators and get their input before stating anything that bold. Like…Joesph Staten, or Marcus Lehto.
I rather have a really cool multiplayer with elites than have one that makes sense so they have to take away good stuff
I care.
Also, multiplayer is canon.
You’re running simulations in War Games on UNSC Infinity.
Come to think of it, a glaring reason why there is no playable elites in Halo 5, is because of all the Spartan abilities: thrust, ground pound, and last but not loved by any, Spartan Charge. If there be any playable elites in Halo 6 they will need unique abilities balanced out with the Spartans, or the playing as the elites will come a great disadvantage.

I agree, and no I most certainly do not care if it’s canon or not.

Not stating anything bold. Just not closing doors/portals out of spite.

My thoughts exactly.
Canon?
I don’t really care if multiplayer is canon or not
