There’s just one thing about the sprint I don’t like. It’s unlimited. Everyone already knows because they played the game. I’m starting to think every shooter game is going to have unlimited sprint like Star Wars Battlefront. How is running forever realistic? What is everyone’s thoughts on sprint. Name something you like about it, and something you don’t like about it.
Just allow it in customs.
I could take it or leave it, I guess you could say one of the negative points to it is I never really asked for it. But a positive point is it makes larger maps.
I feel more comfortable with sprint being a thing as I play a lot of shooters
Going from a sprint game to a no sprint game feels horrible to me so I’d hate to see it go…
If they had to get rid of it I’d want the basic speed to be sprint speed
Realistic in Halo?
It belongs. If the first Halo were created and released in 2015 there would be a sprint. All of these argument about how it does not feel like halo are just silly. Name one FPS that had sprint in 2001. It just makes no sense to play the role of a super bad @$$ spartan and be limited in movement. It’s about being dynamic. 343 did a good job at implementing it and the game still being balanced. Those that feel like it’s a detriment have the option to play MCC or find a game that does not have sprint. This horse had be beaten beyond recognition and is a stale argument at this point. It’s in the game, it’s more than likely not going anywhere and it belongs.
Sprint is crap. Ruining maps, aim, flow, map control… etc. Just nobody care about that, they feels supersoldiers… hahaha
How is a space war and super soldiers realistic?
I myself like sprint and want it to stay. As for unlimited, it really doesn’t matter to me, it’s not like I’m constantly sprinting in the game anyway. I don’t use it while clearing buildings, as a good opponent can kill ya before you even get a shoulder charge in. I think it’s a nice addition to the game, I know not everyone feels that way, and that’s fine, but at this point and time it feels natural to sprint in fps games.
I love sprint, I think it adds another element to the movement options. It doesn’t really take anything away, and I don’t think it ruins maps or anything like that.
Running forever is more realistic than only being able to run for a few seconds.
I have no problem running 5+ miles in real life without slowing down, but a supersoldiers can only run for a few seconds? Lol
To me, sprint limits in games are super annoying and unnecessary.
I want prone!! Why not? Im a supersoldier… I want grab tanks like Hulk!!! Why not? Im a supersoldier!! -Yoink- the canon, -Yoink- the lore and -Yoink- the inmersion.
sprints terrible. at least reach did something cool and limited it as well as having trade offs to being able to sprint

I love sprint and I am even happier it is unlimited once you click the button. If you don’t want unlimited sprint you can turn it off in the options.
Titanfall has an even better setup for sprint. You can set it to AUTO sprint by just pushing forward. You don’t even need to hit the sprint button. That is wonderful but so far this feature is only available in Titanfall.
The horse is dead. Stop beating it.
It’s not unlimited because your shields don’t go up when you’re sprinting, so unless you suck, it relates to whether your shields are up or not. Also they’ve made the sprint and walk speeds closer making it even less worth doing.

As far as I’m concerned, the original Doom and Duke Nukem 3D had predecessors to sprint called “run”. Even the first quake perhaps, on my phone so too lazy to look it up, and I haven’t really played it, and I don’t remember much of Quake 2.
If you want Sprint sprint, I’d have to say DoD, Day of Defeat which came about in 1998 I believe.
Also, arguing that it belongs and will most likely stay is such an assumption it’s almost ridiculous to say so. Because practically the exact same things have been said about dual wielding, custom loadouts, armor abilities and flinch, even sure I saw it about Reach’s bloom or Halo 4’s grenade indicators. Where are they now?
Edit: Another thing, we’re genetically enhanced super soldiers indeed. How are we not proning? Noble 6 and Jun did it in Reach. How are we not corner leaning? Pretty sure I saw Buck do it on Shanghelios. If I didn’t how does the enhancements or power suit prevent us from that? How are we not surviving more than two melee hits while fully shielded? Pretty sure both Locke and Chief traded far more hits each than two with no time to recharge shields, which weren’t to my knowledge present in that cinematic. How are we dying from less than a clip from an AR firing quite standard ballistic projectiles while fully shielded and encased in a titanium can and a titanium enhanced body sock?
They did balance it out okay, but it definitely fits canonically. Spartans were capable of running up to 32 miles per hour, and they were known to hold these speeds for substantial periods of time. Need I remind you that these Spartans are the peak of human physical capabilities. It’s not crazy to think that they could run as fast as they can for a few minutes, especially with the suit doing half the work. I like sprint in Halo, because it feels like it belongs with GENETICALLY AUGMENTED SUPER SOLDIERS IN PEAK PHYSICAL CONDITION. I don’t know why people think it doesn’t belong in Halo, because it should have been here in the beginning.
I’m neutral on sprint but I do have a question for you. How long do you think a soldier can sprint before stopping? You’re right they can’t sprint forever but you best believe they could go on for quite a while, especially Spartans (aka supersoldiers).
I mean, if Spartans are going around a Warzone map a few times non-stop, they’re going to start to get tired. They’re still humans, but they’re in much better shape than a normal human.
