Does all Spartans never forgot about there family?

I mean, they haven’t seen there parents since that (-Yoink-) Dr. Halsey kidnapped them when there kids. I know they training their skills and alot of shoot their strengths for war of invasion, but it isn’t right to forced kids to join the Spartans and experiment them at young ages.

Spartan III’s certainly remember their family since they volunteered to get revenge on the covenant

Yep. In the Comercial where is shows Carter becoming a Spartan. It showed him looking at a picture of his family.

Only the S-IIs don’t really remember their family

Not all S-II’s. Naomi still remembered.

And yeah, S-III’s more like did it in revenge of their parents.

Forgot about that!

Wow ok. Guess we’re going to skip the part where ONI funded and approved knowingly what the project was going to and will do.

The Spartan-II program was a necessary evil. A large-scale insurrection would shatter the economy of humanity and destroy potentially dozens of worlds and billions of lives.

70 children vs. Several billion is not a difficult choice to make.

Except for the one making the call…

Their families are the ones they are with now.
For John and the rest of Blue Team, that’s their family.

For the Spartan IIIs, I would assume so, since their family’s deaths are the reason they’re fighting.

Maybe I’m just cold-hearted. But if I were told to sacrifice 70 kids to save millions or billions, that’s a no-brainer for me.

Uh. It was 75 kids ok. Jesus

Because five makes a difference on the scale of millions.

John-117 does have very faint memories of his mother. After dreaming in cryosleep, he described her as “Kinda smelled like soap” and she had “Large eyes, straight nose, and full lips.”

She vaguely remembered. I don’t remember her actually recognising her father.

The insurrection would not have cost Billions of lives.

No, just every person that wouldn’t fall in line with the Insurrectionist way of thinking. That’s why they didn’t act like terrorists in the outer rim for years before and after the Covenant showed up.

If I remember correctly didn’t John think about his family once before in the books? Or was it just his childhood? Either way I remember it saying he didn’t want to think about it at all.

spartan 3’s didnt volunteer…
wow who made up that nonsense.
they were kidnapped orphans.

Orphans, yes, but the S-IIIs weren’t kidnapped. They were asked if they wanted to fight Covenant to avenge their dead families, and they either said yes or no, so technically, they did volunteer.

The debate, obviously, is whether a six-year-old has the capacity to understand the situation before signing his life away to ONI.
gives ONI the “ok sure” look

War crimes, blame always gets shifted. Look at the -Yoink!- for context.
