Does aiming feel easier now or am I crazy?

Im enjoying the beta quite a bit. The implementation of the new mechanics is refreshing and the overall gameplay is a blast. Im squashing face left and right… and therein lies my concern. Ive always been decent at Halo. Got to 45 in H3 (previous account) and held a good kd in reach and 4. I consider myself a better player than most (keep in mind who most are). So why am I stomping kids thus far?

Ive come to 3 possible conclusions: 1. Ive somehow gotten better after 2 years of not playing (highly unlikely). 2. Ive ran into nothing but thumbless children thus far (quite possible. Probable even). 3. Most likely, the game is easier somehow. This is only my experience thus far so dont take this as anything but my opinion. As I said, Ivealways been decent at halo. I know my way around a br but as my lack of a 50 in h3 suggests, It wasnt my strong suite. With a supposed decrease in reticule magnetism, i would have thought this problem would have grown but it hasnt. Im now getting 4 shots left and right. Im snapping the stick rather than following steady and these kids still cant help but receive lead facials.

Does anybody else feel this way? I notice rhe decreased magnetism with the pistol but thats it. The br feels easier to use than in 2 and 3. Same with the dmr. Thoughts?

You’re just not getting matched up against people with similar skill. Remember, if the game were “easier” then it would be easier for everybody and you wouldn’t be dominating.

I was routinely getting exterminations and perfections every match when I first played. Got to semi-pro and I typically lose now.

The aim assist in this game is very small. Probably the least since CE or at least Halo 3. (excluding sniper and automatics)

How many games have you played? Your first ten games you will get matched up with noobs and BKs and go 23 and 2, etc. Then the ranking system will kick in and you’ll be matched with similarly-skilled players, whereupon the controller-throwing will begin.

But to answer your question, yes it the aim assist does seem easier at times. I think magnetism is higher based on how close you are, so up close tracking is very easy with the BR, but at distance there is much less than in past games.

13 I think? Lol im aware it makes for a small sample size but I find it odd that i have had the best kd, avg life, and most headshots of the 80ish people ive encountered. I know that 13 games of reach, 4, or even social slayer in 3 wouldnt see me as mvp in even half those games.

What You mean is that aiming feels smoother. Largely as a result of the 60 fps that Halo 5 runs at. As opposed to the 30fps of previous Halo Games.

Your first games will always = perfections and running riots. Once you get put against others who were doing tge same in their first matches then you can expect an average k/d of 1 per match and a w/l of ~50%. That is if the ranking works properly.

Also bullet magnitism seems to need a nerf. People shouldnt be getting headshots, the questionable ones, like they do.

This. I know when and how often I do/should get headshots/4sk’s. And it aint this often. Im the kinda guy that voted TS over team brs in 3 cuz i knew i coudnt keep up. I dont want to be fed kills. I want it to be hard. I want to get frustrated and have to try harder.
