So on IMDB today they added the listing of a voice actor named Ike Amadi as the voice of Agent Locke. Now I know that IMDB isn’t always a credible source, however it kind of adds up. For one, if you listen to the live-action Locke TV ad, Locke’s voice is completely different then before. It is a lot more menacing, his voice even has a slightly different sound, the way he pronounces words. This is also present in the Halo 5 campaign demo we got at E3 yesterday. Now I actually looked up some examples of Ike’s voice-acting work, and to my surprise… he sounds exactly like Locke did in the campaign and in the trailer! He sounds very similar to Mike Colter, but has a more menacing voice, where Mike Colter has a more “gentle” voice, like in the Halo 2: Anniversary cutscenes. Could it be possible that Mike COlter was only brought in for motion capture and facial scanning? That is what happened with most of the character in Halo 4. There was always different actors for the voice, facial scanning, and then motion capture. Cortana for instance had 3 actresses in Halo 4. And Master Chief had Bruce Thomas doing the motion capture while Steve Downes did the voice. Could this explain why Locke’s voice is so different all of a sudden? Maybe Mike Colter has a pretty busy schedule and could only do a few lines or something…
*UPDATE: It has been officially confirmed that Ike Amadi is voicing Agent Locke. Mike Colter will only be providing motion-capture and facial scanning.
343 and Colter himself have said on numerous occasions that he would be providing the motion capture, facial scanning, AND voice for Locke, so yes, it certainly was him and it definitely sounded like him. IMDB is not a credible source in anyway.
Agent Locke only has one voice actor and it isn’t Mike Colter. If you read the Microsoft press release from this week it states that only Mike’s image was used. The voice of the trailers and the game is Ike Amadi.

Uhm, no. Mike played as Locke in Halo: Nightfall and he’s back to play as Locke in H5. That means mo-cap and voice. Doing a quick google search of “Ike Amadi Halo 5” and the only thing that has to do with him and Halo 5 is the IMDB page. And like Wikipedia, IMDB isn’t a credible source. And where in the press conference do they explicitly state “Mike Colter is no longer voicing Locke”?

I just looked up Microsoft’s press releases for the week and didn’t find anything about Colter or Amadi. Also the IMDB page lists both of them as being Locke’s voice so…yeah, a source would really help you out here.
Unfortunately I don’t have a link only the pdf press release but this is the news coming out of E3. Here is a copied excerpt:
. The Master Chief - Steve Downes
. Frederic-104 - Travis Willingham
. Kelly-087 - Michelle Lukes
. Linda-058 - Brittany Uomoleale
. Spartan Jameson Locke - Ike Amadi / Mike Colter (Likeness)
. Spartan Olympia Vale - Laura Bailey
. Spartan Holly Tanaka - Cynthia McWilliams
. Spartan Edward Buck - Nathan Fillion
When it comes to why we re-casted Spartan Locke’s voice:
Q: Is that Mike Colter’s voice as Spartan Locke? He sounds different.
A: The voice of Spartan Locke in-game is being led by voice actor Ike Amadi, who also voiced Locke in the “All Hail” TV spot. Mike Colter’s likeness remains the visual representation of Spartan Locke.
Well if it is true then, I’m okay with it. Amadi did a great job as Javik in ‘Mass Effect 3’, and he sounds enough like Colter that it’s not weird - in fact, it’s probably for the best if they are using a more seasoned VA to play a role as important as Locke’s.
Locke sounded terrible in the H2A cutscenes. Like really bad. And the live action trailer Locke and E3 Locke do sound noticeably different, but everyone just assumed Colter worked on his VA.
The OneZion, unless you are just completely trolling, you can provide a link. Upload the PDF to Google Drive or OneDrive or anywhere and share the file if it is indeed real.

Why don’t I believe you? Makes no sense that they would recast him months into development of H5. And I can’t find anywhere that confirms this. Not even IGN who’s doing 24/7 coverage of E3. Something this big as changing VAs for the main character would have warranted an article or even a video. Not even the supposedly PDF version of the press conference or link that you mentioned

> Well TheOneZion definitely isn’t lying about Michelle Lukes playing Kelly-087, I just checked her twitter page and she confirmed it.
It also stands to reason that this rumor had to start somewhere. And Locke really does sound different / way better than last year…
So for the time being I’m going to just assume this cast list is indeed accurate…which makes me more than a little curious about who they have playing my favorite female Spartans.
Lukes seems like a decent choice for Kelly; apparently she’s played military-type roles before. However she also has a marked British accent, so hopefully that doesn’t make her sound weird surrounded by an entirely American accented cast. And the girl they have for Linda is definitely an unknown; though I’m concerned she’s waaay to young to be playing a woman in her 40’s.
I just really hope they turn out okay. Bad voice acting could totally sink one of the most important aspects of this game. :\

Unless you’ve got a source for this then you can’t expect anyone to take it at face value.
I can’t find verification for this anywhere; I can’t even find his damn twitter.
Hilariously enough the only two things that pop up on Google related to this news are the IMDB page (which once claimed an obscure rapper was playing Chief in Halo 4), and this very thread
