Does the age in which you play Halo really matter? I found it ironic to hear a squeaky 10 year old screaming at what sounded like a 30-40 year old man after he betrayed him on accident in the Wraith. quote “HEY OLD MAN GET OFF OF YOUR FAT Yoink! AND GET A JOB, NOBODY F****** WANTS YOU ON HALO!!!” and the man just kept on ignoring him and the 10 year old just kept on raging while I and most likely the other man were laughing. So it brought up the question in my mind, does age truly matter? I thought anyone of any age could play video games…
Of course it doesn’t matter. I doubt the “old man” even heard the kid, probably had him muted.
Anyone under 12, AKA They will ALWAYS rage when they are dead, should not play.
12 year olds mature kids (Yayme) should be allowed to play, but those who scream and shout and rage etc. should be on a harness when playing.
Anyone above that should be allowed to play. Unless they have stuff like heart damage or stuff like that.
40 year olds are basically people who saw halo when they were 30.
30 year olds are basically people who saw halo when they were 20.
Why a problem?
younger kids seem to take the game to heart when they play it.
they take it extremely too seriously as if it is an integral part of their life. Having said that not all children who play the game are like this.
i think its dependant on the kid and their respective upbringing. normally i find (this is a personal opinion) that younger children that have an xbl gold account normally get want they want from their parents so they then expect this to carry over into the game. when theyt continually get killed or loose a weapon or vehicle, because they are used to getting what they want, they tend to have a tantrum. like they would at home with their family.
i avoid kids under the age of 15-16 when playing halo, they take thing to seriously. i also cant tollerate the sound of a squeaky voice in my ear. thats just my own personal preference.
fyi im 30.
Age doesn’t matter, nor is it supposed to, however I have more respect for older players because I generally assume they’ve played other Halos and have been with the series for a while. Younger players are alright, they tend to be highly annoying and take the game way too seriously, however I respect that they’re playing Halo, and not CoD.
I can’t stand younger players below the puberty line. I always end up muting them.

Arrryday maf, y u no pedobear?

You butched my name…nooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The reason why? I have a younger sister and brother, I don’t need to listen to another annoying person.

Arrrrrydayyyyyeee Maaaaafffffffffff.
Understandable.
It depends on their tone and punctuation…
I despise young’uns that scream and try so hard to prove their point whilst being intolerant of others but the same can apply to mature adults who feel the need to outcast people because of their voice pitch.
There could be a 12 year-old that has a higher standard of equitique and a 30 year-old who speaks like a Garbage Disposer…
I think parents should follow the ratings that the games are given instead of buying $60 babysitters…
You haven’t muted me math.
Anyways, no age doesn’t matter. It depends on how a person has been socialized.

You haven’t reached puberty yet?
Also I don’t find you annoying…

In my honest opinion and experience - Age is but a number, Maturity defines how you act.
I’ve played with a kid who was 14 but sounded/acted like he was retiring. Then again, I’ve dealt with 25 year olds who have nothing better to do than act 12 through many areas.
Age doesn’t matter, maturity does.
Not really. The “kid” is better suited at developing their reaction times while being able to consume filtered strategies learned by the older gamers.
Older gamers may not always be as quick as they once were, but they usually have something the “kid” doesn’t, and that is experience in recognising the techniques and strategies used by the newer gamers that haven’t surpassed evolution into meta-builders.
Meta-builders is my personal spin on tagging those that discover and apply new techniques into games. Whether it’s older or existing games, it doesn’t matter. Some builders are by accident, some by design… others by something in between. They’re the ones that push the game, not conform to it. They’re usually the ones being complained about too. They often play the “not Halo-ish” ways. (And to be clear, MBs don’t scrub things, they can often be anti-scrubbers.)
Both have equal oppourtunity to show what they bring. And for that, their age has no bearing.

Too bad for him that the average age of gamers is around 30.
I’ve never discriminated against age. It makes me sick when someone disrespects some kid just because he has a higher voice. We were all there at some point and it sucked getting made fun of.
Now I do find that the maturity level of gamers seems to be going down. I don’t know what it is but every day there are more and more kids screaming and yelling profanities at other players. Not all of them are bad, though.
