Does 343i know that they failed with Halo 4?

People need to understand that this is the last straw. If 343i fails again with Halo 5 then its over. So many people have made threads about what needs to be done but is 343i really listening?

One major problem that has been going around lately is with dlc. 343i is asking me to pay 10$ for stances I can only see in the main menu, skins that I will hardly notice while Im in a gunfight, 2 armor sets that were already designed by Bungie and that should have came with the game in the first place and new maps with one of them being already designed by Bungie and has been remade in forge tons of times.

Along with that 343i made pervious dlc maps that you will rarely play on. ITS NOT FAIR THAT I NEED TO BE PUNISHED BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE REFUSE TO BUY DLC MAPS. Why don’t they just restrict playlist and make them dlc required it work in Halo 3 or make a search filter option to search for players that have the dlc. Better yet make the dlc for FREE.

Ok…

I am sick of these threads. “343 failed…” “343’s not listening…” “343 really doesn’t care about the community…”

I have come to realize that 343 probably doesn’t know what to do. Some people like the Halo 4 a lot, and some people don’t. Yet neither side is willing to listen to the other. This means that 343 has to choose a side. Which would mean losing a majority of the population either way. (And don’t even try to bore me with the “Millions of people played Halo 3 because of it’s core elements” stat. Because we honestly don’t know why they left.)

I see that the community seems to be split right down the middle(ish). Ther are only two different outcomes for Halo 5 and each one makes the losing side mad. But wait, we don’t have to make it like this. Why don’t we stop demanding our own way because obviously we are the ONLY player that really matters to 343 and start trying to come together. It’s Red vs. Blue and nobody wants to try to make Purple.

Compromise: a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.

Is the above really that hard? Can we seriously not be a bit lenient towards the other side? Don’t get me wrong, I do see plenty of constructive threads out there but I don’t believe that is necessarily the point. I rarely ever see a thread where someone is incorporating the other sides interests as well trying to incorporate their own. Meet in the middle, people.

Do you understand how easy it would be for 343 to make the best Halo game in the entire franchise if we could just agree with each other. Make it happen. PLEASE!

No. 343i did not fail. Halo 4 is a commercial success. Because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it failed and doesn’t mean it’s over or will be over

You’re making a problem because you don’t want to spend money on something

Couldn’t agree more Hoosier. It seems people just don’t want to compromise

No. Majority of people dont like H4, some do. People leave when they dont like a game OR there is something better.

343 didnt bring ANYTHING new to the table. They poorly copied popular features AND recycled a concept from Reach. Fact is COD does streaks, perks and custom loadouts better. Reach had better balanced AAs even if a couple were annoying. Armor Lock for example is balanced because mobility is sacrificed for invincibility. I hated AL too but it wasnt because of balance it was annoying and slowed the game to a crawl. H4 AAs didnt improve this feature IMO. If anything its just as bad, or good depending how you look at it.

343 has yet to consider more balanced Infinity settings. Plenty people have suggested power up only PODs or nade only PODs with power ups and power weapons on maps. PLENTY. Or pre set loadouts with various perk/AA combinations. Thats a middle ground.

I’m old school but I dont want H4 to be H3. I want 343 to use these trendy features in a balanced way. Something like Throwdown with radar. Now whats left of the community falls in 2 categories, people who accept/like Handicapped Halo or the ones who want balance even if that means a touch of older Halos. Question is which one would be better for the franchise?

im all for PODs having only nades and power ups and the weapons being on map. balance is key in halo and if people cant see that then halo will fall.

Made changes to how random ordinance drops work by NOT making them random

(basically) Classic Slayer returning

Weapon Tuning update that buffed almost ALL weapons to outperform the DMR in their respective ranges

Gave CSR <though only on waypoint due to technical difficulties when changing the UI

Fixed map and weapon glitches

…I think they do.

Fail or not
this game could have been one of the best Halo games but 343 has yet to give us we want. Not once did I say I dislike Halo 4 but I do believe I have the right to tell 343 Im unhappy.

Although Halo 4 did not go as well as 343i had liked, the game certainly did not fail. Lots of people bought the game and enjoyed it, but were driven away from it for a number and large variety of reasons.

If you don’t like what you see in the Champions Bundle, then don’t buy it. If there are things that interest you but there are things that don’t, then know that there is an option to buy the content packs totally separately.

Many fans were wanting more armour, weapon skins, stances, and a remake of The Pit, and that’s exactly what we’re getting. Plus, a totally new map called Vertigo and a new game type. Pretty good deal for 800 MSP IMO.

Don’t buy it if you don’t want to. No one is forcing you.

Yeah they added those things multiple months after the release of game. They should have been in the game from the start. And plus it was already to late for them to add those things because over 100 000’s people already left.

I always had a strong feeling things would be shaky when a new company takes over HALO.

In all fairness, Bungie went downhill with Reach, or is it because most people prefer the easier to play and kill COD, where it’s who sees who for a good chunk of the kills.

At the end of the day, HALO > COD.

Making doomsday prophecies about the end of Halo and then making demands to release free content isn’t the same as the right to tell 343i they failed.

343 made mistakes. They know this. They admitted it in one of the Halo Bulletins. But at this point, you have to be blind if you can’t see that they are trying to make things better. And it’s ignorant to say they are not listening. The weapons update and the addition of Legendary Slayer proves they are listening. In my opinion, the $10 price is worth it, but you do realize that you can just buy the maps separately? I agree that the ODST and Mark V armor should have been there from the start, but the fact that 343 is adding it now disproves your “theory” that they are ignoring fan requests. And remaking The Pit is not being lazy; it’s allowing us fans to play on a popular map we enjoyed in the past. I’m so sick of posts that try to make 343 seem incompetent and uncaring.

The part that Halo 4 didn’t fail at was the sales.
343i admits they messed up and this is a quote that one of the devs said “So we know we have a lot to do. And we know we have a lot to learn. But we also know that we now have the capacity, the teamwork, the technology and the experience to do much better next time.” I hope they do better next time.

Yeah, I know. I read that on Waypoint before.

I think we all hope 343i does a better job in the future.

If Halo 5 flops you tell me what happens. Im not demanding free content more of like a suggestion. And if you didnt notice I’ve suggested other ideas but you refuse to acknoledge them. What Halo 4 didnt fail in was sales. 343 even admits that they messed up. But I dont know why you get the impression that I dislike Halo 4.

So… It’s not alright for you to get punished because others won’t buy the maps, therefore we must punish others for not buying the maps?

Shakes head and sighs- that’s me right now

I give props to 343 for weapon tuning and other stuff but still they added that stuff too late. Too much of the population has already left. 343 has ruined one of the most enjoyable things in Halo. Custom games. Im sure you’re aware of the amount of threads there are about people expressing their opinions about how they can improve and what they should have done. And there’s hardly any threads that are like “oh 343 Halo 4 is so perfect with no flaws”

Lmafo Im not the only one being punished by this many of others are too. Its still unacceptable that people pay for these maps but rarely get to play on them.
