Does 343 drop a big surprise for us S2?

Please fix de-sync and shot registration. Also - tone down the grenades, you get hit from 20 feet away in all directions.

Don’t do this to yourself, expecting a surprise is just setting yourself up for disappointment. They can’t even get the content they announced out so I don’t see how we’d get some surprise content like 5 maps. There’s just no way.

Disappointment. That’s the suprise.

Not really. Season 2 being pushed into May means any announcement or roadmap is quite likely to be pushed into E3 instead. Like only a month and a half later.

2 maps is all we’re getting.
They may drop some new weapons + more than 3 modes.
Also more features, but we’ll just have to wait and see

They can add all the new maps and weapons they want. Just polishing a turd. It won’t fix the myriad of problems this game has. The whole way the mp is designed is broken and built around taking your money. Dont fall for it.

set your expectations low. such expectations will not be met, dissapointing you
modern gaming at this point is just non stop trash and dissapointment. lesser than games of old. for ‘fancy graphics’ over enticing gameplay and something worthwhile to spend your time on

would it be nice of 343 to give us:
previous halo weapons and vehicles, actually good maps, a healthy amount of non rn to get modes, dlc… etc…
but 343 ain’t gunna do that, we all know that, for the next 10 years. or rather they will… just drip feed us one at a time, one thing after every six moons

But I like surprises : (

A new armour core, with a whole load of colours and customisation options that need to be purchased in meaningless bundles where you might want 2 items, and you would never use the others in a million years.

More emblems that will be cycled over 3 weeks as weekly rewards!

Oh also, forget about how the colours you’ve collected thus far might be used in this new core.

Surprise!!!

nintendo switch before ps4 or ps5

I do too (good ones that is lol) but let’s be real. 343i is in disarray and I think it’s going to be a long time before this game gets to a healthy place, if it doesnt die in the meantime. I don’t think anyone should even be entertaining the thought of surprise extra content if they’re struggling to even keep up with what they had already planned. It sucks but that’s Halo’s reality right now, at this point the best kind of surprises we can hope for is stuff not getting delayed even further.

I mean Halo is never gonna be on playstation anyway.

I’m hoping that we get surprised with more than 2 maps. Like maybe we get the two official maps and then 2-4 maps from forgers who have been testing the tool

343 hasn’t offered much and so far their actions vs their words have literally shown otherwise.

Be prepped for disappointment. You’re only getting two maps. One for BTB and one for arena.

Inexcusable.

Lol, of course not. Where are people finding these endless amounts of copium and hopium? This studio is in shambles, management dropped the ball, key developers and leads have left. They are picking up the pieces right now but due to the knowledge flight, tech debt and hard to use tools, be prepared for ongoing content drought. Takes a while to get some fresh faced new devs up to speed (and they’re kicked out after 18 months due to insane HR practices, continueing the cycle of mediocre performance).

Well you’re definitely being very optimistic, I’ll give you that.

Yes. The big surprise: S2 delayed until Q1 2023

I wonder if AAA live service game studios are coming to realize that a revolving door of contractors is not a sustainable way to develop games players will dedicate time to anymore? Launching broken games is unacceptable, even in cases where the base gameplay is great.

Rotating constant contractors might have been a feasable strategy when you’re looking at the 2-3 year development cycles of the 2000’s and 2010’s (3 years of dev, 1-2 years of post release content, rinse and repeat with slightly overlapping timelines). But now that games like Infinite are doing things like targeting a full 15+ year support cycle (6 dev, 10 support), why would you not want to keep someone around for a long term position?

Well… they’re gonna drop something. Whether it’s more/better content or something more smelly and of a fecal nature is yet to be seen.
