Dodging is a big problem in this game. A lot of players that are Champion Rank will dodge players like me that they will likely lose to, which prevents them from losing any Rank. They pick and choose which players they know they can probably win against.
This is really annoying when they are getting what I consider an illegitimate Champion Rank or climbing the leaderboards in general. Especially when I need to beat them to climb the leaderboards, and I’m stuck only able to play against Onyx or lower players. Sometimes the same team will dodge me 15 or more times, which is really bothersome.
The game should be like Halo Wars 1 when you get matched up with a Player/Team, it is locked in. From a competitive standpoint it’s not fair that players can pick and choose their battles. Avoid the better players and smash on the noobs to make them look good. While the best players have to get the crumbs to get rank, because the good trueskill dodges.
It will hopefully be fixed in this upcoming patch.

I’m glad I’m not the only one having this problem. It’s pathetic, I’ve been paired against the same team 3 or 4 times in a row and they would leave.

Call me a Noob, but how does one dodge? You can’t see the opponents rank, you can see their level. And it isn’t like you can back out can you? Or am I missing something?

Closing the game when you see a high number (It’s more common on Xbox), I only dodge on unranked when I’m paired with people that I know are on party.

OK, so it is not so much the ‘champion’ or ‘onyx’ level scaring people away, they see a 50 and close the game and reopen it. That makes sense, but it is a big assumption. I am not a 50 yet, so I guess I do not experience it very often.

To my knowledge you can’t see the CSR on game (you would have to have a great memory to dodge high CSRs) OP’s problem is that people with high CSR are dodging to only play with noobs and not screw their stats.
Just saw a Solo War Champion Divisioner with an MMR of 2.97815.
Seems drastically low to be a Champ…
In my opinion, those dodger deserve a perma ban.
I know the game does not have the big population numbers but we better cute away the 0,1% wanna be pros dodger players from the game.
Or we get ranked playlists like in Halo Wars 1 where you are forced to play with friends, so that only teams fight each other. There also must be a 3v3 and a 2v2 playlist where you are forced to play alone with Randoms.
Also players with ranks must play with players in their rank and the System must search on the level of the highest ranked player in your Lobby so that lowranks play on their own risk.
If 343 can’t do that because of less players - The ranks are useless.
For example,
I kill a old guard - I win but yeah what do you expect?
I kill a dragon with laser-eyes, the size of high charity with my bare hands while helping my wife in the kitchen making dinner - that’s Champion #1
i don’t know if this has been said or not seeing this is almost a year old…but please, for the love of god…you guys are gold and plat ranks…no one is “dodging” you. We are dodging these idiots in ranked games at rank 12. We wont lose to you…we will lose because we are paired with a moronic partner…

Rank means nothing. CSR will give you a better idea of how good a player is. If I see a level 50+ just tells me he plays the game a lot, not that he’s a great player. I’m rank 49 cuz I don’t play a lot but I do get ranked against onyx/champion players. I think a lot of this has to do with their servers/disconnects. Only a few times this past week the game would freeze before the final load and I was forced to quit the game as well.
its an old post thats still relevant. The issue remains that high CSR ranked players get matched with rank 11 players. Ofc CSR is a better indicator of skill, but until 343 puts a rank requirement on playing ranked matches, we will dodge games. A rank 3 playing ranked 3 v 3 is a loss if hes on ur team. And the problem for alot of the players come in the middle of the day. I dont work year round, so from now until july Im home all day for the most part. I play alot of games during this season midday, and lose most of them. Then, at 5 o’clock when everyone gets off work, my friends come on, we win 25 strait games. Tomorrow, same situation, ill lose 10 or 11 games from being matched with bad players. Some games quite literally feel like 1 on 3. There may not be a fix by 343, so the players who enjoy the competitive play fixed it ourselves. Dodge these games that would be otherwise auto losses.
