Do you wish Bungie made Halo 4?

In my opinion, if Bungie made Halo 4 it could have been a much better game. I know that Bungie was forced to make Reach, which was more like CoD than any other Halo game. But pretend -Yoink!- didn’t tighten the leash, I bet you Bungie would have made Halo 4 instead of a CoD like game (assuming Bungie wanted to make another Halo). There would be no DMR, no Boltshot, no Loadouts and no Armor Abilities. I’m positive it would be very much like Halo 3, but with new graphics and maps and some new guns here and there. Yes, they would probably not have prometheans in the game but Bungie still makes good covenant vs humans campaigns. I believe Halo 4 could have been a fantastic game, if Bungie were the developers. Now I don’t hate Halo 4, I just wish 343i didn’t try to make Halo more like other FPS games. Halo had a great niche, and dominated for a long time. So would you have wanted Bungie to make Halo 4?

After Halo 3 campaign, it was obvious Bungie didn’t care anymore about Campaign. And I doubt they would go back to Halo 3 way of MP. They would probably keep up with the way they did Reach.

Forced or not, they still made a bad game.

Why make a bad game and their reputation suffers for it?

Bungie is still a great developer tho, since they brought us halo, and the upcoming destiny

Oh god no…

1-3 were amazing games, truly brilliant.

ODST was a great little spin off.

REACH sucked -Yoink-! The campaign was terrible, multiplayer was boring and it didn’t have that charm that the trilogy had. The cracks were showing with REACH and it was clear that the Bungie that made 1-3 SO good was not the same Bungie that made REACH.

343i are working on what came from REACH, but with the backlash they have had from Halo fans, I reckon they may look towards the trilogy with their later ventures.

Nope. I like Halo 4’s campaign. It was reminiscent of the good parts of Halo one, minus the excessive reuse of levels and with better storytelling, characterisation and dialogue.

That’s not to say that Bungie would have made a bad game but 343 seems better at storytelling, and that’s the part of Halo that has always interested me.

Not to mention, Bungie has moved on. They made it clear they didn’t want to work on Halo anymore. 343 has incredible potential, Microsoft just needs to give them some freedom.

How i see it is with 343 making halo and bungie making a new is good as if bungie made halo 4 we wouldnt have a new ip on the way.

If MS werent so over the top with their control of halo 4 it would have been a much better game at launch as im sure 343 might have delayed if they could.

But at least we are getting TUs

What I wish for is for people to stop thinking Bungie is god almighty.

Hell yeah they’re great developers and I too am excited for Destiny, but Halo 4 would STILL be the great game it is now. The blame for the problems the game obviously has needs to stop being put entirely on 343i, maybe Reach (made by Bungie) can show you the proof that something else (IMO that something is -Yoink!-) is causing the problems.

Can’t wait for 343i to make Halo 5.

If Bungie were to of stayed a individual company, and not basically become owned by microsoft yes, microsoft -Yoinked!- up bungies halo… as did 343.

NO, i cant frickin wait to see what Bungie makes next!

I have to disagree, bungie have always been great storytellers and are a lot better at it than 343. The story 343 told for Halo 4 was very bad imo, now its not the worst story that has been told in a game but it was very bad.

Halo reach’s beta was highly criticized
Bungie still released Halo reach the same way. The game is considered the worst halo game and Bungie did nothing to attempt to fix their game.

Halo 4 had no beta. 343 is just as stubborn as Bungie so far.

So i have no preference. I guess at least if it was Bungie, the custom game settings would have been fixed by now (Reach was also shipped with botched custom game settings, but were fixed pretty swiftly).

Bungie: Halo 1 and Halo 2 Amazing. Halo 3 OK. Odst actually bad. Reach was Ok but more to the bad side. My point is theyre running out of ideas like if they are bored out from making Halo , but 343 starts fresh and delivered Halo 4 which is actually added to my favourite halo game after halo 2.

My opinion , and i didnt want to go deeper.

  • Had to edit this one cause i accidently made 2 of the same…

I wish bungie never took Halo the direction they did in Reach which opened the door for 343 to destroy Halo altogether.

I liked Reach. And I like Halo 4. Like Reach, Halo 4 only needs a bit of spit and polish to be perfect. If anything, it was 343i who screwed up Reach with their title update; and their poor handling of the DLC in that game.

Also, I like Halo:Reach’s campaign. I don’t know why everyone says it sucks; the action was as good as ever, and I liked being able to create my own version of the protagonist. I liked the Sabre and Falcon missions, seeing Halsey and Captain Keyes return, and Noble Team was pretty bada** (my favorite character was no doubt Jorge). More so than Fireteam Majestic, who I hate… (f*** you Demarco, you fricking wannabe, and your squirrely little friend.)

They’ve made up for it well enough so far with Halo 4, but I won’t lose faith in them unless they fail to provide fixes for this games various issues (lack of Rumble Pit, underpowered vehicles, overpowered Boltshot, etc.). But it’s only been two months, so I’ll give them some time.

If we’re two years into Halo 4 and there still is not fix for these issues, then I’ll give up on 343i.

I’m certain Bungie would have created a better game in certain ways. I guess the menu interface would’ve been better, party selection, connection search options, better playlists etc. Stuff like this would’ve been done better since they are a more established gaming company I guess.

That said there’s no telling if they wouldn’t have made the same decisions as 343 have made. Seeing Bungie started this by creating Reach, it’s hard to say if Bungie would’ve gone back to Halo’s roots instead of expanding on Reach.

Are you sure? Bungie and it head Jason Jones love Halo 4 and said that how they would done Reach if they didn’t let Marcus Lehto be in charge of Reach but gave Jason like the first trilogy which sadly was unable because he working on Density at the time. Which thank god they fired Marcus after Reach. Do I also have mention that Jason send his cope of Reach back to Gamestop for a refund after playing 2 mins. of multiplayer?

Yeah…i’m talking about reach here.

And just FYI Marcus is still at bungie.

No since I would like to see something other than Halo from them as much as I loved Bungie doing Halo, it’s nice to see them do something else. Hope Destiny is Awesome.

Pretty much this. After what Bungie did with Reach, I say thank God for 343i.
