What do you want new implicated into Halo Wars 2 compared to the first? Voice your opinion!!

do you want… to build a snowman!!! nah jk man, but yeah i think more units (sniper marines etc.) would be cool, more base options like seen in the e3 trailer for hw1 with asthetics. and hopefully a higher population cap due to new hardware so i can have multiple battles happening at 1 time… that was probably the only drawback for me on the first, the fact that multiple battles were either weak or non existant.

Like Jdc2002 mentioned, I want more variety in units, and the ability to choose which weapons my squads have. For example if I train an ODST squad I want to choose that one ODST has a sniper, one has a shotgun, and the rest have BRs. Of course each weapon will cost a little extra to train to keep it balanced.

I’d also like individual unit control. Like lets say I have a squad of 4 ODSTs, I want to sent 1 odst to secure an objective, one to hold a location, and the rest to push forward.

I’d like HW2 to be more rooted in the traditional 4x strategy genre as seen in other traditional RTS, furthermore for the PC version looking for mod support (fingers crossed!). In HW1 it was all about who could rush super units first, rushing was the primary play style for example chieftain rushing and arbie rushing with suicide grunts (¬_¬).
HW1 late game often became a stalemate with max pop super units (or some counter units) and it often became boring :frowning:

yeah, when you are in circle menu to go on odst, it will take you to another menu where there are 4 weapons and you select them to upgrade them, once squad is out, you can press say RT and it splits them into 4 units, reunitable by paintbrushing and pressing RT again.

also I want the halo wars 1 UNSC announcer. “supply pad complete!”

I would enjoy seeing the elephant mini-base idea expanded on. Maybe a mobile base where you can have two or so spots to have a building, maybe make it cost more to build there.

bases shouldn’t be locked like they were in the original. Have a set area where original home bases can be built but have it be a different area on the map each game, this would definitely slow down zerg rushing.

I’d like to see multiplayer separated like MCC.
A pre halo 1 section where you have spartan 2s and such
Halo 1-3 where no spartans allowed and brutes are added
Post-Human/Covenant war era- Spartan 4s
Elite Civil War mode- Heretics vs Covenant

Would love to see more customization as well. Maybe reaching general allows new uniforms for your marines and different color honor guards.
changeable spartan color. Beating the game unlocks Mark 5 and Sage combo to make spartans look like early master chief and maybe unlocking lockes armor.

Better base defense for sure. The 4 turret system was lame and they need to expand on that idea with deployable walls, upgradable to energy walls and maybe shade turrets.

A little bit more of a need to split your armies and play a little more strategically in offline. I swear if this game is online only I will be beyond pissed.

Yeah, something like that. One thing I thought was odd in Halo Wars was the fact that the ODST’s all had shotguns, just thought it was really strange.

They should add the one vehicle from the Halo 4 Campaign, the Lich, that would be a great support troop for producing units or even having a stun gun on it or something. Halo Wars should also have more players/match, along with increased troop sizes. More buildings that can help you out like the spires from reach that could put out shields or something. Or add random events that change up the battles (Flood outbreak, Promethean guards…etc.) to really screw up the players in the game. Finally a flight-enabled suicide grunt should be their top priority lol

Just imagine a whole Flood army under your command and then also commanding Forerunners too just to mix it up and have a reason for a flood/forerunner campaign. The amounts of different troops and vehicles are endless. Age of Empires, Empire Earth, Command and Conquer feel. Either way Halo Wars 2 should seriously adapt some features and make them their own original flavor.

Great ideas all!! I would love to see an increase in population and would be great to set your own squad weapon presets. Also being able to map battalions would be cool!

Epic ideas, defintely going to need new races to play as! Prometheans would be awesome to play as well, however may not be in the time period hw2 is based

You never know forerunners could still be fighting in a far off galaxy against the flood and being converted at the same time these events take place. Different campaign would be cool to add new dimensions from the main story.

I love all the ideas. I don’t want heroes to be such a main point in the firefight. Too many times people would prophet rush and quit once you defend it. While I think they are important I think there is a way to implement their importance without sacrificing too much. Although it was pretty cool/wierd to kill a scarab with the arbiter. I would love however to have units with USNC that are explosives based very low health but able to set explosives to structures.
