Sure, the sales of halo 4 were great, you made a crap load of money and you got good reviews. Heres the thing, wheres everyone gone? The playlists barely reach 10000 players at one time, with the only ones managing this being infinity slayer and big team. In comparison, halo 3 would have hundreds of thousands of people every day.
So why the difference? Well, theres reach (im not even going to bother going into detail). Then theres the lack of competative play. Sure, lots of you guys like social play, but when, for example, the default play lists came back on for a few minutes and slayer pro clocks 6000 players in 5 minutes, that kinda shows that people want competative. And then theres maps. I enjoy a couple of halo 4 maps, but the majority i do not really care for, espeacially complex. However, if more forge maps were included and some map remakes were used, practically all of my friends list would be streaming onto the server. just some pointers for you.
does it really matter. are people really looking for excuses to rant against 343 and is this the new one.
ask yourself a few questions. Do I still play the game, Do I enjoy the Game, Can I still find MM games. and if you can answer these questions with a yes then why do you care about some inaccurate number. and if you answer no. then why are you attacking them and why havent you moved on.
I completely agree, the difference in players playing halo 4 compared to halo 3 in its days is rediculous all because 343industries dont listen to their fan base and dont care at all on competetive play. 343industries have a contract with -Yoink!- gaming and why? Money. -Yoink!- gaming pay, 343 pay roles go higher and competetive play gets launched out the window. 343 lost thousands of fans because mlg dropped halo 4 and this is because 343 already have a contract with -Yoink!- gaming. 343 Mabey you should start listening to your competetive fans, Bring back existing halo 2 and halo 3 maps, bring the BR to a 4 shot in throwdown and keep the DMR a map based weapon instead of loadut. We competetive fans may not have created the game but we no alot more about running it since halo 2 and halo 3 were a massive success and we have been plaing since then. Stop being so social based and start letting the real players play, Competetive.
If you want to play the old maps so much then go play the old games. As for the calls for more ‘competitive’ modes, just wait for the release of CSR, quitting will go through the roof and you won’t actually be able to get a game finished.
As much as I love halo 3 and I would really like a throwback/pro playlist you have to remember that halo 3’s population showed over the last 24 hours, while halo 4 and reach show exactly the second you check, also this morning I saw a ton of people online in all playlists
I would play the old games but 343 have their heads wrapped around social play and overpowered weapons so much that they dont take care of halo 3 servers anymore. Halo was created by Bungie, Bungie stated that halo is a game for challangers and compedeters yet by the time halo reach came they had become sellouts and created a bad yet close copy of Call of duty that they had to give it all to 343 who have just kept on going with the sellout.

You do realise that 343 wants to work with MLG aswell as the fact that 343 has absouletly zero control over the MLG issue, and they are adding a competitive playlist soon enough with halo 3 style gameplay and halo 3 and 2 maps made with forge
thats the problem. i dont enjoy halo anymore due to the playlists available. previously i was stricktly on the mlg playlist now i find myself trying to hold on till throwdown is launched. i feel mm is just to unbalanced and the maps are too large however i do have a suggestion to add which i exspect wld make everyone happy. If 343 released a map pack of previously succesful halo maps which wld appeal to the competitive community it wld boost mm numbers and make players happy not to mention i sure as hell wld buy it. A gd example wld be the pit, narrows, construct, countdown and mby 1 or 2 from halo 2 and CE
even if CSR is invisible in game why does it matter. 343 will still pare you with people who are your CSR and you will never have to be worrying if you are.
The only reason we are getting a throwback playlist is that they hired a man by the name of Bravo an ex pro halo gamer to create the playlist, they are taking all the preasure off of themselves by hiring a player of halo because 343 (the professionals) cant do it themselves because they dnt give a damn.

I care about the number because I want MS to continue to fund Halo games well into the future. It DOES matter. DLC sales are down again, even down from Reach’s DLC numbers. Keeping the player count up and keeping them interested gets MS DLC sales. Big money in DLC. Halo isn’t getting that anymore.

Okay,
This is not a rant or attack. If it were then id say “OMG 343 CAN SUCKIT THIS GAME SUCKS GO DIE I HATE YOU”.Im trying to give feedback on what i feel can improve this game dramatically. As it has already been said, yes it does matter. No player interaction, no more funding and no more halo.
Halo is a franchise i care about, and if it sinks then ill go down with the ship. Im just trying to help patch up the leaks before it gets to that.
343 is new to this, they know what they need to fix concerning playlists and CSR. I know CSR is only on waypoint, but im trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that they cant implement it as of now.
I’m more concerned about weapon balance and vehicle balance, they’re already showing that they are going to make a ranked and social and add some of the more classic new playlists, even though the TU is in april, but its starting to look better and hopefully it can bring some of the older fans back as I’m playing a little more every now and then when I first started playing halo.

Then they shouldn’t have chosen a company with 0% developer experience (Reach DLC doesn’t count).
EDIT: Apologize for double post, perhaps a Mod can assist with merging.
