I’m all for taking down colossal machines, but I’ve had more satisfaction slaying H1 Zealots and H2/Reach Ultras.
Let’s see a Scarab vs. Scarab battle. Or let us pilot a Scarab and wreak destruction.
Sure why not, just let the Covenant be a side enemy so we can focus more on the new enemy.

Halo 3 Scarab fights were the best vehicle engagements in the history of this franchise. Climbing on a colossal machine that could kill you with its powerful cannons or by stepping on you was fun in itself, only to then kill everyone on board, destroy the core and bolt it out of there to behold one of the most satisfying explosions in the game is priceless.

You wouldn’t last long against a War Sphinx even if you were in an Assault Carrier. Much less a group of conjoined War Sphinxes… Which they are often encountered as…
Yes, but make them tougher. Halo 3 Scarabs were far too easy to kill. The only real challenge was everything but the Scarab itself. It was too inaccurate, too predictable, too slow and too weak. Killing something that big shouldn’t be broken down to a science, it needs to be a smart enough experience to be just a little bit different and interesting every time.

Compared to Covenant tech, War Sphinxes would be classified as heavy warships. They blow continents into dust, if we are to fight one, it needs to be done with Forerunner tech.
I definitely want to see some Scarabs in Halo Xbox One! And not just to sit around and look pretty, I want to fight them too. They should be much smarter, accurate and mobile than in Halo 3, posing a real threat and being a challenge to take out.
If the Scarab doesn’t return, I hope they make some sort of Promethean successor. But for the love of god, don’t make it scripted. Make it like Halo 3, please.
Why? It’s huge, it’s awesome, it takes time and skill to kill, when you kill it you feel like master chief. If any game should bring huge battles back, it’s Halo 5 and with the power of the Xbox One.
343 should make a super massive Scarab 100 times bigger than the normal ones for one of the campaign levels and maybe a mutliplayer map as well
You know, if the Storm Covenant can find a freaking Harvester, I’m sure they have a few Scarabs here and there.

Sure I would want to fight them again, they were quite epic in Halo 3, and even the one in ODST.
I would love to have Scarab battles in mix of Halo 2 and Halo 3 style. I loved how in Halo 2, you could see the Scarab moving around the city and destroying stuff, then you had to fight againts it later. It built up atmosphere for the fight when you could see how large and effective vehicle the Scarab was. That made the fight awesome.
As for the Scarab battle itself, I would like to have it similiar to Halo 3 fights. Large open area where you can get inside the Scarab with different ways. It was very fun.

Heh, imagine if they had the ability to jump high into the air and crush foes below. Within a great radius of course.
Or if they had a charge ability, where they suddenly gain a huge burst of speed and come right at ya!
I would love to see Scarabs return…and take on seekers!!
They need to not stay in one area the whole time, and they need to be more dangerous/offensive. In Halo 3 they were fun to fight, but they weren’t that hard to take down. I would rather throw my controller in frustration because of how difficult they are to take down, than be disappointed in how easy it was.
A Scarab (or a similar “big boss vehicle”) would be nice as long as it’s actually hard to kill this time around. You know in Halo 3 when you fight two of them? It should have been “Holy crap, TWO?! NOOOOO!!!”, instead it was more “Dangit, three Banshees a Ghost and a Prowler.”
It would be amazing if scarabs came back as bosses. I hated how they were just background props in Reach.
