Do you want health in Halo 4?

Would you want the health bar to return, or just have Halo 2/3 with only shields? I’m not too fussed, really. Liked 'em both.

Halo 2/3 style

Both are fine for me. If i’m not mistaken, wasn’t there a form of “Health” in 2/3 that just wasn’t visible?

Halo 2/3 style. When Halo 2 first came out, I missed the health packs. When ODST came out I thought that it was good to have the health pack system for non-Spartans. When Reach came out I realized that I enjoyed the Halo 2/3 system more than health packs.

One of the thing that made Halo unique in my opinion is the multilayer health system that contained both regenerating health and non-regenerating health. I feel that this uniqueness was lost during Halo 2/3 as both layers were regenerating health unlike in Halo 1.

In Halo 4 they should stick to the multilayer health system that was in Halo 1 and Halo Reach, it added more depth in both campaign and multiplayer without negatively affecting gameplay.

H2 and H3. To compensate for the recharging shields, health wasn’t very good. Imo, H2 LASO and H3 LASO are a lot more tougher than Reach LASO.

There’s already a poll for this for Halo 4.

Without repeating myself from that thread, I say yes and everybody should support that too. Why? Because there are options that allows for the health to be like Halo 2 and Halo 3.
You can easily, easily, go into the options for Halo: Reach and change the settings to make the health system the same as Halo 2 and 3.

Now which option would you prefer, a health system where you can alter the settings to make the health the same as Halo 2/3 and leaves everybody happy, or a health system that forces it to be like Halo 2/3 and can’t be changed that leaves only one side of players happy?

> H2 and H3. To compensate for the recharging shields, health wasn’t very good. Imo, H2 LASO and H3 LASO are a lot more tougher than Reach LASO.

Wait, what?

1.) Halo has always had recharging shields
2.) CE had equal hitpoints for health and shields.(75/75)
3.) The imbalance of health versus shields in H2, H3, and Reach has been the single biggest problem in the franchise.
4.) Reach has the exact same health to shield ratio as H3 45/70, Health is just visible in Reach.

OT: Heath should be visible and equal to shields in hitpoints. Rechagable health is ideal.

Seriously, I can’t stress this enough SUPPORT EQUAL HEALTH AND SHIELDS FOR HALO 4!

I would like the Health to come back. Though maybe it would satisfy both sides if the modified the health system a bit. Like health be back but have health regenerate slowly, but not regenerate fully. Like maybe regenerate back to 75% to 80%, that way you would still use Health Packs. However if the Health bar goes under 10% to 20% it won’t regenerate by it’s self and would need a health pack. That would blend the two preferences very well. In my opinion anyway.

Have a shield bar, have a health bar, leave out health packs, keep “regenerative” health.

…so you want the Health system to be just like Reach?

Those settings wouldn’t affect campaign or normal Matchmaking games though.

Unless they have thorough options for campaign like for multiplayer, no.

As for Matchmaking games, yes it can. Any option that you can change can be applied to multiplayer. They just need to implement them.

That’s my point though. They need to implement them. That means that they’d probably have to create different playlists for the different health options.

Exactly, dude. And they’re definitely not going to do that, because that would further divide Halo’s dwindling population.

This, like the Elites in Reach, of course with a faster regenerating shield like in Halo 2/3. Health packs are not needed canonically as the Mark VI armor features biofoam injectors, so when the wearer is injured, this allows them to heal automatically.

This.

I like having a shield and health and seeing both of them. EpicGamerMonkey sums up my feelings on this pretty well.

I like being able to see my health in halo reach, but if it wasn’t displayed then I’d really like to see the screen get all red and bloody when your shields are depleted and you are close to death.
