In reach, the sprint was a great addition because it made the game for fast paced, the jet pack was also good because it was just fun to use I mean who doesnt like man cannoning off using their jet pack and high jacking a banshee/falcon? xD, and the hologram because you could actually get away with a lot and it actually made players think how to use/when to use it/how to fake people with it but other than that all the others were pretty much worthless.I also liked the assassination it was a pretty cool feature cause it showed humiliation to the player that got killed.
As for the other abilities, I think they should have only limited usage and then you go back to a the default sprint. Say armour lock you use about 3 times, then back to sprint. Jetback, a limited amount of time til you run out of fuel.
Also I think instead of a traditional jetback, it should be more of jump jet back, kind of like the one battlefront 2 had for the darktrooper where it would be kind of like a supercharged jump to cover huge amount of distances.
I want assassinations to return. Period. There nothing wrong with it. You use it at your discretion and if you it during a heated firefight, its your own fault if you die.
Sprint as Default for Humans, Evade for Elites but more usage possibly, No Armor Lock in the game at all, Jet pack is pick up able but like you said, limited usage(runs out of Fuel) and then no longer usable and goes back to sprint, Bring back Oversheild with out the stupid burning feet crap, same with active cammo, make it a powerup only, no equipment version in the game, but can be set for extended times up to never ending for custom games . Basically: Bring back equipment no armor abilities, I don’t count sprint or evade as an AA and Jetpack would now be referred to as equipment. That is my thought on the subject
I agree to both of you guys one of the things I also want that was in halo 3 is the trip mine it was useful when you had a warthog behind you shooting at you and you deploy the trip mine and BAM! I know you die but atleast you took out the -Yoinks!- in the warthog lol, it was also good for like sneak attacks sort of. But what about the grav lift would you want that in the game?
Cinematic assassinations: No. It constantly got me killed, even though I only tapped the melee button, it still did the cinematic. It consumes unnecessary amounts of time in game. That being said, I don’t mind it being in the game. Just make it require I different button than the melee, or a button combo.
AA: Hell no, they caused extreme imbalances throughout every game. It literally turned the game into a cockstorm. Armor abilities are a drastic change from the normal halo formula, and in my opinion it wasn’t a good change. If they were to keep armor abilities, I would hope it would be exclusive to custom games.
Equipment however, is a different story. Halo 3 style equipment added new strategy to the game WHILE maintaining stability and balance. It didn’t massively upset the flow of the game, unlike armor abilities…
NO to AAs even sprint, you just need them to up the speed and jump height for it to feel right again and you won’t need sprint. Also sprint melee and sprint sword lunge are the worst part about AAs.
If Halo 4 brings back anything which was added in Reach, it will only get worse. Armour Abilities and Assassinations were not around before Reach, and the game was much more popular then. 343 needs to go back to what was popular, and need to stick with what they know. There’s nothing wrong with being innovative, but Reach is killing this franchise. They need to scrap Reach and anything that was apart of it and go back to Halo CE, 2, and 3.
No to AA’s, and a “meh maybe” to assassinations. AA’s broke Halo’s Golden Triangle (Weapon Control, Map Control, Vehicle Control); AA/weapon/any loadouts destroys Halo’s Sandbox genre.

-_- another topic of this, but i be good and tell you that its a fact that the majoraty of the players hate armor abilities. But assassinations its good addition.

you don’t need grav lift if there’s a jet pack
sprint and evade should be default
assassinations should be toggled on or off to your desire, with every weapon having a couple of unique assassinations…the same one got boring…
I much preferred equipment over armour ability’s, I feel they added variety needed to spice up the gameplay but as they were pick-ups they didnt alter the core halo formula as much (IMO.)
I think movement ability’s shouldn’t be in at all, theres no need for sprint to ‘make gameplay faster’ when you can just increase the base speed (like in halo 1,2&3) and jetpack damaged map control too much for competitive gameplay. I think hologram would be cool, if it was as an equipment (pick up, one use then you dont have it anymore)but as for the others I dont feel they would fit in because-
Sprint - Increase movement speed instead
Jetpack - to damaging on map control
Armour lock - was always a bad choice
Active camo - the pickup orb was a better choice
Hologram - would be a nice equpment
Evade - same as sprint
I say ditch sprint (Yes i like it but we dont really need it) and make the player as fast as we where in halo 1-3. Also increase jump hieght (Before i go any further i just want to make sure you are aware that in reach they made the player slower and lowered the jump hieght) to something more useful.
Assassinations are definitely going to be in halo 4.
