Do you want a new AI for Master Chief?

TSIA, do you want a new AI for Master Chief?

SPOILERS AHEAD PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED HALO 4 GO NO FURTHER

To be honest… nothing will ever replace Cortona… were not even sure she’s dead yet… so… anything could happen

So personally no. However I think it would be an interesting possibility… would create some interesting dogma between the chief and the new AI… however IF they did create one I don’t want it to be a cheep cookie cutter Cortona… I want it to be a COMPLETELY new AI.

However… I think having no AI would be an interesting possibility as well… (squad anyone?)

That is so true, but we need a new AI IMO. AIs are a big part of Halo and without one of them buzzing around our ears it won’t feel the same.

So, assuming Cortana is dead (because it will be lame for her to pop up somewhere), I definitely want a new AI. And like you said, it HAS to be fundamentaly different from Cortana. The first thing to do us make it a male, then you’d have to make sure he’s much less emotional and human and much more humorous and easy-going. I think that with Cortana dead, Jon should assume the role of the human and the AI the machine (I’m not saying he should become emo, just slightly more human than before).

Now, given all I’ve said, in order for the AI to feel different enough so that it isn’t a Cortana rip off, it will have to be: male, possibly humorous and much more machine than human and aware of it. Now, any book readers know who that is: our good ol’ BLACK BOX! I would honestly love that. Another option would be Roland, as he fits all the criteria with the exception of the ‘non-human’ thing. The last possibility would be Chakas (aka the original Guilty Spark) and it would be fun seeing how THAT could happen (since right now he’s just flying around the UNSC Rubicon in search of the Lobrarian with no physical body). Obviously, it could always be someone new, but I think BB is absolutely perfect for the role (I remember Franky actually calling him the anti-Cortana).

The Master Chief doesn’t really need an A.I. considering he spent a good 27 years fighting as a Spartan without one. In the games he was pretty much alone except for Cortana but originally hid closest companions were his Spartans. Now that Cortana is gone, I would say now is a good time to reintroduce his Spartans.

However I don’t appose a new A.I. because they’re always neat to have around. Of course Roland could continue being the go to guy for Blue Team if they wanted him to.

I don’t see how a new AI and a squad can’t come together. It should. There is absolutely no excuse now not to introduce them at the very least for co-op, but they could come with a new AI with a more squad-dynamic than Cortana and Chief’s lonely journeys.

I would like a Squad myself, especially so when playing 4 player Co-Op you could each play a different character and such, it would be a nice touch to fight alongside John as Fred, Kelly, etc.

BB as the new AI for the chief has so much story potential. He’d provide proper contrast to the chief’s “becoming more human” story, and possibly we’d get to see BB eventually soften up a bit as well.

I personally think that the Didact’s imprint will replace Cortana in H5/6.

What would be cool is if Chief gets his own fireteam, and the other 3 Spartan-IV units on it are either randoms like the Spartan-IV guys in Campaign or the players’ Spartan-IV’s. Maybe make it so when you do single player Campaign one of the guys is your own Spartan-IV.

imagine if he got a new ai then cortana came back from the dead. Akward moment much

I think John should get a new A.I and a Fireteam of the remaining S-II’s. That would be great, and I would love to see the IIs interact with the IVs. Oh man, I’m getting excited just thinking about it!

No. No AI should be given to John other than Cortana. She is the only AI for Chief.

Cortana. You can’t kill her off like that in the first part of the new trilogy.

that is what I was referring to by “squads”, But since my posts have been screeching about blue team… I thought it would be better not to bring it up so directly… ^_^.

Don’t forget spartan III

That sounds like a good idea on their part, and I’m always looking forward to the work of Fred Tatasciore.

Not so much replace Cortana. I don’t see the Didact helping the Chief, but rather tormenting him. I think it would make for a good internal conflict for the Chief to overcome the Didact mentally.

I’d love to see the Didact as some sort of Geas in S117.

Granted, this is important. The Geas, in no shape or form, must have impacted any of his previous accomplishments. This would greatly diminish his feats and in my opinion would greatly hurt the series if we found out he was getting help from the Didact the whole time.

The Didact is voiced by Keith Szarabajka.

I personally hate the “Didact Geas in Chief” idea. Obviously the Chief has Forerunner influence from the Librarian but all she has talked about is how Humans can surpass them. Why make the Chief into a Forerunner if as a Human he is supposed to be better? And why even give him a Didact Geas when the Didact was still alive? It makes no sense. All Humans shown before have had the minds of other Humans in them. Chakas says at the end of Primordium that modern Humans have ancient Humans in them. There is no mention of Forerunner minds being placed into Humans. Ever.

Do they? I was under the impression Chakas was carrying them all.
