Do you use callouts?

How important do you think it is for people to know callouts like for team throwdown and doubles? I play these with a couple guys and none of them ever say anything besides “I’m dead over there” or something similar and I tell them it would be a bit easier for people to locate enemies and help if you could specify where you are instead of saying “on the left” since our left and rights could be flipped depending on how we’re standing. Those are just examples though, I imagine this would be important in competitive play.

I tell my teammates where I am based upon the alignments of the stars.

nope because I don’t use a mic unless with friends. I do just fine not calling out.

Heck when with friends we just talk about casual stuff and still go +10 lol

Call outs only matter if your with a team you actually know.
You just break each map up into sections and give them names.

Generic names:

Red base/Blue base
Mid field/Left field/Right field

you get the idea. Just make up a name for them and go with it. right field for me on Ragnarok is “Pelican”. If there’s a sniper over there I just say “Snipe Pelican” and then we go kill them.

well since no one uses a mic anymore thanks to party chat i’m gonna have to go with no.

I do, when I am talking about sides I say for example “Shotgun side” and my friends know what I am talking about.

That’s what i liked about the mini map in CoD:BO.The mini map had was layed out in a graph, i could pinpoint an area very easily based on the graph.I could say "i died in B4, guy camping with a AK74 red dot in B1 on the second floor.

I used BO because it was the best callout mechanism i have seen that requires knowledge of the map in detail.Which is perfect for competitive fights.

It is hard to use callouts if there is no point of origin to base the positions of yourself and who killed you with near perfect accuracy.Which only leaves a guessing factor. The only reference you can use is explaining what weapon the person has and their playstyle, such as aggressive or passive in nature.

Halo 4 has very little to offer competitively at the moment in terms of in-depth detail regarding the map.Since the maps themselves are generic and plain in nature with no real significant points to reference with.Though this is just my view regarding callouts, but i believe i gave good examples and reasons as to why callouts are hard to do if play with people you don’t know.Only way callouts can be in any way effective is if its with people you play with often and know what means what when someone announces a particular event.
