Do You Trust 343i?

Pretty simple
Do you Trust 343i with Halo?

The devs yes, the suits no. simple as.

No, for the most part.

Both h4 and h5 weren’t good, and MCC didn’t launch well at all (although their efforts have done alot to improve it). h5 successfully got me to stop caring about the EU.

I think thats why myself and others are so thirsty for content to be shown, because we want something to assuage our fears. Its great it took them 3 games to finally get the art style fixed up, Infinite still looks like a heavy trend chaser.

With how much negative news That’s going around.
No, But I would liked to be proved wrong.

I truly believe the devs want to release the perfect halo game and the effort put in the latest MCC seasons shows that Infinite has the potential to become an amazing platform for Halo fans and newbies.
Business interests will not always be in line with our expectations, and the ambitions of the devs, but with time this will become the best Halo game. (Nostalgia aside)

I don’t think it is as simple as that.
I don’t think that’s the right or even a fair question.
Very reductive and highly anomalous in nature.

I’ve learned to not trust any game developer. But 343 in particular has let me down more than they have lied/deceived me. So in that regard, no, I do not trust them but I believe that is more out of incompetence than greed.

Well seeing that after 343 took over Halo it went downhill, I’d say No.

I think the people actually developing the game are doing the best they can. I work for a large corporation myself, and I actually feel bad for the boots on the ground developer team because I see all the signs that middle management is taking orders from higher up people and saying “yeah boss we can do that” no matter how unrealistic or player unfriendly the directive is. This game is starting to look like your typical f2p cash grab game and it’s unfortunate because I’m sure there are people at 343 who love Halo as much as we do but their hands are tied.

There is a reason Halo has fallen majorly in terms of popularity and relevance in the gaming landscape. And it wasn’t oversaturation. While Reach had it’s haters, it was still held in high regard by the gaming landscape, and even casuals. There was palpable excitement for it, and it still remained long after the game launched. The same can’t be said for the titles released after. Halo 4, MCC and Halo 5 have done nothing but tarnish the halo name in multiple ways. Bland and Formulaic multiplayer (4). Broken beyond a level we’ve ever seen before (MCC). Ditching split screen, introducing loot boxes, taking out Btb to replace it with a pay to win MOBA and finally… having a campaign so horrendously bad that it actually damaged the brand (5). 343 have been in charge of Halo longer than Bungie. And they’ve done nothing but drive it into the ground. The only saving grace for them was fixing MCC. which only happened cause 5 wasn’t doing as well as they’d have liked in whatever capacity and they realized there was an untapped market in the pc landscape for Halo.

Don’t take this as me Yoinking! on 343, but just telling you why I don’t trust them, because everything I have stated has either been fact or the majority opinion. But despite all of this, and all of the red flags Infinite has alerted the community of, I still remain hopeful out of my love for this franchise. I really hope 343 get it right this time, I truly do. I’m rooting for them and for Halo, 100%.

I trust them with Forge, but I’m skeptical on most other fronts except monetization. After Halo 5, and news of a battle pass in Infinite, because multiplayer is f2p without word of campaign price we’d be fools to trust them on that particular issue. There’s also the out of place cosmetics which will likely rapidly erode the theme of the game in multiplayer. The above is why I will not be pre-ordering. I’m not getting Borderlands 3’d again.

No, but the development of flood firefight, and the pandemic xp boost were nice gestures.
I want to trust them.

These threads almost never go anywhere constructive, so I’m gonna nip this in the bud right now.
