Do You Trust 343? - Vote

Some say that the trust must be earned. So my judgement so far what I’v have seen the 343 Industries doing, I do trust them. Not blindly, I do have shadow of doubt towards them as well.

I do not. They’ll earn my trust if they produce a great Halo.

They’re involvement for the failure that is Reach has been amazing. However, will they be able to do the same for their game if it’s another “Reach”?

I think they will.

Do we even have a choice? I’d rather have 343 make Halo 4 than any other developer out there. Also, our trust in 343 will not affect Halo 4’s game development. If you decide not to buy it, shame on you because you’ll be missing out on one of the most awesome Halo games ever.

So far I have really liked what I’ve seen from them, they seem to really care for the franchise.

However, I will withhold judgement until after I play Halo 4 (I am very excited to play it!).

I trust 343i 100%

I trust them them, just 99.999999%. I have yet to see what they can really do, butI’m satisfied with what I’ve seen.

NO MATTER how much you dislike Reach, its not a failure.

Population- over 300,000 UNIQUE players everyday (the amount of players you see at the time you are playing doesnt show all the people that have played that day)

Sales- sold more than Halo 3 at launch

Campaign- great campaign, if you dont like it thats on you

Multiplayer- yes it can be rediculous at times: they need to remove the ability to become invisible at will, AL needs a shorter use time/longer charge time, 85% bloom is perfect, invasion needs updates, bleedthrough needs to come back nerfed, double pummel needs to become obsolete, sprint should be canceled if the user is shot while sprinting, sniper rifle needs to spawn with less spare ammo/ longer spawn time, etc.

Firefight- one of the best things that could have happened to Halo

Theatre- another great addition

FORGE- need I say more?

Overall, great game, its just that a lot of people didnt enjoy it

How could you possibly trust them? They have made no FPS’s before, and so far all they have done to “evolve” halo 4 is conform to mainstream game standards after so many specific requests not to by the community.

> Sales- sold more than Halo 3 at launch

lmao. No -Yoink- it sold more at launch, how were we supposed to know what we were getting into?

Everything else you listed were just gimmicks. Forge and theater yeah that’s kinda neat, I spent a few minutes messing around with them. And I played the campaign for a little too, probably like 2 days. But then I probably logged 150 days of play time on halo 2 in the multiplayer alone, without all those gimmicks.

We can analyze it all we want but for whatever reason, reach just dropped the ball compared to the previous games

You need to realise that this “community” isnt the entire Halo community, this is the Waypoint community. There isnt even 150,000 registered users on this site, and not even half of those people are regularly active in the forums.

You also seem to think of 343i as one person. Its made up of all kinds of different people that have worked on many triple A games. I dont see how you cant trust them, they have done a great job so far.

I did at first, since I saw somewhere that Frankie wanted to stay true to “core” Halo. But Anniversary killed some of that, and progression system, loadouts, perks etc. did the rest.

So to answer the question; no, I do not. But then again, does it matter? No.

I would trust them more if FRANKIE would post on these HALO forums instead of neogaf

> I dont see how you cant trust them, they have done a great job so far.

A great job with what? I really haven’t played reach lately so what did they do in all the updates? They lowered the bloom a little right, and made the pistol do more damage or something? Also they made a couple cool maps for halo 4? I guess that’s kinda ‘great’

Edit:

What other “community” are they talking to? Isn’t this the only place we’re able to submit suggestions for halo 4? And are they even reading these forums? If so they probably just see all the posts about how CoD fans would love if they added perks, loadouts, sprint, recoil, etc, and decided that’s what they should add. It’s pretty pathetic

WOW another sheep on the “gimmick” bandwagon.

It doesnt really matter what you say, Campaign is far from a gimmick, multiplayer is far from a gimmick, forge/theatre are far from gimmicks.

The only real gimmicks were introduced by 343i(CEA kinect Library/ATLAS) but I still trust in them

My trust in 343 has mostly decreased with time. Unless they actually announce some competitive features not just the casual ones (perks, loadouts, sprint). My faith in them is just going to drop futher and futher.

They (mostly Sabre and CA) made a GREAT remake of the game that started it all.

They updated Reach in multiple ways to help more people to enjoy it.

They are making a whole new trilogy.

All you have done is complain, so yeah they have done more for Halo than you could even hope to

I didn’t say multiplayer was a gimmick, I said multiplayer is what keeps you playing. Do you know anyone who actually logs days of play time in forge/theater, or even campaign?

They reskinned CE, not remade. That’s irrelevant except for the fact that the art was pretty good.

I asked you what they added in reach

And oh really all I’ve done is complain? I wasn’t active on the forums giving very constructive, specific suggestions that many people liked and agreed with? Stuff that would attract people to keep playing the game after they beat the campaign and get tired of forge and theater?

Hell no. I don’t trust companies because they’re companies - whether they like it or not they’re in it for the money, they’re not making the game because they really like Halo, or because they think it deserves a new trilogy, they’re making the game because they think there’s money to be had. I trust them less because they’re owned by Microsoft, too.

I trust them to milk Halo’s cash cow, but I don’t trust them to make a good game because they don’t have to - they just have to make good advertisements and live up to the casual audience’s low expectations enough that they’ll buy Halo 5, 6 and some spin offs similar to ODST, Halo Wars and Halo CEA.

You could make a few flashy ads and sell a pig’s head in a box if you stuck the word Halo on it and still make money, but they do need to make the game at least playable and not too buggy as they intend on milking it as much as possible with sequels and spin offs.

And I’m not saying that’s a bad thing - we all need money to live. It’s just not a good thing for the Halo trilogy in my mind, as it sounds like as the industry is evolving into a different and disturbing beast due to the success of Call of Duty’s game series despite the fact that each game differed little to the other, and other games companies are realizing they can get away with the same thing by making money not off of the gameplay but simply because the game series has a big name on it, as they know people will buy the game because of it.

What I guess I can say is that I trust them to make a decent campaign. That much is necessary. But I have real doubts about the actual multiplayer gameplay, as well as that of firefight and forge, ect.

i have almost little to no trust for 343i because theres no beta and there copying cod
