Do you think we'll be fighting ONI by the end?

Alot of people think this is where the story is headed, and I like the idea. Some people believe that by the end of the game, we’ll be fighting against ONI. I wonder if this is true, if Locke is will be an enemy or ally? If it does happen, who Chief will have as allies (Blue Team, possibly Thel). I’m curious if this is where the story is going, do you think so?

i think we very well could be, and i feel like locke will start with ONI, and slowly understand that oni is crazy and that the master chief is the real good guy and they will be on the same side towards the end of the game.

Wasn’t it said that he has reservations about those in command. I wonder if he meets up with Chief if the S-II is able to convince the S-IV to help him.

I’m curious if Benjamin Giraud by the end of his investigation figure out why Chief has been branded a traitor and begins to suspect ONI of something

I highly believe that’s the case.

same same

I think locke will meet up with chief and come to some sort of final revelation about oni, and then chief, locke, and blue team take down oni. Sounds like a good rough layout to me.

Maybe Locke is sent by ONI/UNSC to find Chief due to 'Mdama using Forerunner tech and attacked colonies after locating the Absolute Record. Locke finds Chief then they come to realize that ONI is the real enemy and they need allies to take down ONI. This is just my idea, what do you think?

Sounds very plausible

I think Chief will join Halsey and the Stormies but slowly sow the seeds of distention in both Arbiter and Locke’s hearts. I’d like it if Locke and Arbiter technically stayed on one side of the conflict, while Chief and Halsey technically stayed on the opposition, but the four thought of each other as allies and became the moral centers of their respective, warring, factions.

I think I’d wait till the final game to pull out all the stops and declare war on the UNSC/ONI.

Possibly

Not sure if it will happen but, I welcome the idea. Especially if that means going up against other Spartan IV’s.

I feel ONI is too complex an organization to really serve as a legitimate enemy. The real troublemakers are at the top, but you otherwise have plenty of decent people just doing their best to help humanity. I don’t want to fight people like Veronica Dare or Jameson Locke.

yeah and how do you fight YOUR OWN INTELLIGENCE AGENCY anyway.

That situation really makes me feel sorry for Locke; a dedicated agent following his duty but happens to have really shiity bosses…

I kinda want Halsey to tell him it’s not worth it now.

Its plausible. To me ONI always seemed like this thing that if you spoke against, they would execute you privately in a similar fashion to who the “illuminati” is supposed to kill its victims

What I’m saying is maybe ONI convinces the UNSC (ONI secretly runs the UNSC really) Locke is sent to hunt down Chief and soon discovers that he’s been used and turns against ONI. This causes Chief and Locke to be seen in the public’s eye as traitors and soldiers are told to eliminate them. Chief and Locke have to find allies who can help them to remove the heads of ONI from office and stop their plans…

probably at start it will be some kind of grudge but we will definitely not be fighting them directly its traditional in halo games not to fight humans (at least there is no human enemies in any halo game). and yes i know there is rebels but they appear only in canon and not in games as enemies.

They did say that this game would be darker than previous installments. Imagine how dark it would be if this does turn out to be true, the first time you have to kill another Human. Chief has killed Insurrectionists, and has never liked killing Humans. I wonder how that would play out.

I think it just a few oni people that have gone bad that try to get mc out of the way
