Do you think we will encounter the Flood?

Do you think we will encounter the Flood on Zeta Halo, or do you think it will be just be the Banished?

definetely, but they’re just hiding them till release.

At least that’s what I’m hoping.

please 343 just add the flood back oh my -Yoinking!- god

We will most likely see the Flood coming back in the upcoming Halo Infinite. 343 Industries is keeping their return as a surprise.

I hope so! It has been forever since we faced them, and I feel that Halo Infinites ‘semi-open’ world and all that offers plenty of potential for the enemies we will face. For example, The Flood driving vehicles could once again be a possibility!

With them being in HW2, I would expect them to be in the game at some point. Maybe not the first campaign tho.

I think it’s a toss up as to whether or not they’ll be in the initial campaign, but I have zero doubts we at least get them in dlc somewhere down the line.

I know I’m gonna get dunked on for this, but I really don’t think we’re going to see the Flood. They might have a cameo, but I just don’t believe there’s a way for 343 to work them into the story without making it incredibly convoluted.

I think the main campaign will focus on the Banished, and maybe have some Promethean intrusion halfway through. If the Flood comes back, I’m thinking it would be in a DLC campaign.

Possibly. Zeta Halo does have a Flood containment facility, and with the ring being damaged it’s an option. I would like to see them show up but I’m not expecting it, just hoping.

Wasn’t there Flood and even the Primordal (who became the gravemind?) on Installation 07? As far as I remember there was/is. So im sure we’ll meet the flood. Palace of pain was one of these facilities where the effects of the flood on humans has been researched.

God I hope not. As far as im concerned the flood should have died at the end of Halo 3, permanently.

Zeta Halo was the main base of the Primordial and I do not remember exactly what happened to it but I believe the ISO Didsct imprisoned it so it’s potentially still alive. Regardless, Zeta Halo was heavily flood infested at one point and I would be surprised if there was not still some degree of a flood presence.

From what we have seen in the EU setting up infinite im expecting banished, prometheans and flood to be on zeta.

Unforgiven259

Primordial is dead a long long time by now.

To quote the wiki

“Now synonymous with the Gravemind, the Primordial had ensured its consciousness would survive for as long as the Flood prevailed.”

I believe that Primordial in the form of a Gravesend will make an appearance but that’s just speculation on my part.

The point of Halo 3 was to end the threat of the Flood once and for all.

I hope we don’t see Flood on the ring. Terminals/audio logs alluding to Flood or talking about the history of Flood on the ring would be fine, but I don’t want the Flood themselves to show up as an enemy faction because of how the Flood derail the narrative. If the Flood absolutely had to appear as an enemy in the game, I’d want it restricted to one/two levels maximum and the threat handled within the context of those levels (i.e. Chief goes into a Palace of Pain looking for some macguffin and his presence wakes up dormant Flood in the facility, and when he leaves Sentinels arrive to handle the minor outbreak so it doesn’t bleed out to the rest of the ring).

But we did nothing that’d do that. We only dealt with the outbreak on installation 05.

I think Halo Wars 2 would disagree with you.

The Flood are still a threat and they most certainly are still out there.

If that’s the case then Master Chief hasn’t actually accomplished anything.

The problem with the flood IMO is that exact issue - The Flood are such a grave threat to galactic life that they take over the entire story and game. Frankly I hate Flood levels, they’re just badly designed and monotonous.

They’re a boring enemy and their return spells the end of any enjoyment on my part.

But I’m still getting Infinite, doesnt matter what enemy type is in it as long as the Banished are the main baddies.
