Do You Think Things Will Turn Around When S3 Gets Here

I must say that I’m surprised at the lack of buzz for the ray tracing coming in S3, from both 343 and the fans.
We got a tiny sneek peek from the AMD conference along with the S3 confirmation, but 343 themselves has done nothing to acknowledge it.
Is it coming in S3 or has it been delayed?
Is it only for PC or will it also come to Xbox, and if so will it only be in the 30 FPS mode?

I agree with you on this one Spartan. 343 released an incomplete game and now the pieces that should’ve been part of the launch are slowly being added in and it’s drastically hurt the player base.

On top of that, the lack of true seasons in multilayer absolutely just destroyed the longevity of this game. They acknowledged the mistakes, now let’s see if Season 3 is the true kickoff and if the follow through will happen.

Season 3 is undoubtedly going to be an improvement. But, I dont see it even increasing the population. I think the game needs SIGNIFICANTLY more done.

People voted “No” but deep down they want Halo to win. Every one of us on the Forums(besides the people who are here to troll) wants to see Halo win.

HCS Charolette restored a lot of “hopium” for me. I know they are playing on LAN and the Online Servers need work but even the Season 3 Showcase made me tear up a bit… gosh man, I just want to enjoy Halo again. :pray:t6: :pray:t6: :pray:t6:

Even for LAN on PCs there was still alot of embarrassing disconnects and restarts…

I agree with all but the last part. The game had it’s chance, nothing will undo the damage in any meaningful way.

I agree that the damage from the can’t be completely undone but there has to be scope for some recovery as the game gets fixed up. Maybe with some extra promotion to assist in getting the word out.

Promoting season 3 more wont help because season 3 doesnt seem to have any big fixes for the game. Just YET ANOTHER battlepass and a couple maps… oh and a neutered DMR.

They need to wait ntil they have a season with far more to promote before attempting it.

Agreed but I wasn’t specifically talking about season 3 but replying to BlueDeviststor. Since the overall thread is about S3, I probably should have made that clearer.

It should help. A bit. It looks like great content.

And they need to promote the Hell out of it.

3 maps, 2 cores, heaps of armour, new weapon, new equimpment, a game mode, and a kick start to Infection.

That’s awesome.

And if if this is what we can expect every 3 months or so from now… that’s awesomely awesome.

Finger’s crossed there is something in the “QOL” fixes.

Because I do agree. Content alone won’t save Infinite.

Promoting things heavily before the main issues are fixed risks burning what little good will and curiosity is still left out there for Halo. I would’t promote until more of the main issues are fixed. The more times someone has tried a game and not liked it, the less likely they are to give it another go.

I think what muddies the water is what each person considers “turning things around” is a completely different thing. If you ask me what the game is lacking it’ll probably differ from what you think is lacking, OP. S3 definitely will not please everyone and it will not turn Infinite into the penultimate Halo experience suddenly.

So, no, in that regard I do not think it will. Will it improve the game? Barring any technical issues, yes, I believe it will improve the game.

The most I’m willing to expect is a spike in population (maybe as much as 2x) immediately after S3 launch, that dwindles over about 2 weeks back to more-or-less where we are now.

Now, if future seasons are similarly sized and the pace comes down to the expected 3 months, then I could see a growth that stabilizes at roughly 2x our current levels, but not much more. Many, many millions of gamers have moved on and have no interest in going back to an old failure, even if it is better than it was at launch.

If you don’t mind me asking; what do you think is lacking about the game?

I’m personally on the gameplay side of things being an issue, however most people think that’s not a problem and are mostly concerned about “content” like maps and stuff to spend money on. And this mostly seems like a “content” update.

The desync/netcode as a competetive player is my biggest issue. While yes lacking in content I loved the old Halo feeling to it and all except for the desync

It’s only shadows and literally not a single person in the world cares about shadows in a multiplayer shooter, come on now.

I have no reason to think they will suddenly surprise me with a bunch of campaign content, so no.

The mutliplayer is a goofy arcade spartan training thing, so that will never pull me in. If they aren’t adding a serious multiplayer mode like invasion and they aren’t updating the campaign, I doubt I’ll be coming back for season 3.

It’s possible, but I voted no. It’s sad that many are holding on to the idea that season 3 is going to fix the game. None of this should have happened in the first game. 343i need to admit they released a beta and the game is still in a beta state considering where it’s at right now.

We are over a year since the release, and they have not fixed this. It’s very sad.

The community is done trying to help 343
