do you think ther could be more then one cortana

So just for fun I was throwing this round in my head the other day and was wondering if any one else has had this thought. that the Cortana in 5 is not the Cortana from the other games. ok hear me out on this. so in halo 4 you know she split herself up. so I was thinking if one of those rampant clones (for no beater term) was one of the ones that fell into slip space and landed on geniuses. and the Cortana that we know and love fell in the same place but did not go along with the warden’s plane and was forced out and put on that halo we saw at the end of halo 5 legendary. I know this is a starch but I feel it would be easer to fight aa rampant messed up clone then have to fight the real Cortana. I think it would be fun to find the real Cortana and have her help fight the rampant one and warden. On a side note dose any one else thinks that the wardens is some how connected with the didact? so what do you guys think?

Had that thought myself.

Maybe… it sounds coherent…

.-.

Agreed. I feel that the Cortana we see in Halo 5 is one of the corrupt/rampant versions of her and that is why she is “evil.” But I don’t know this for sure. I’m pretty certain that we’ll find out in Halo 6.

Oh pleaaaaase, honestly after this hurricane of a Campaign I just can’t even be interested in the story anymore. RIP HALO CAMPAIGN Halo1-4

I don’t wanna chase Cortana anymore… I just wanna shoot some flood dudes again… sniff…

Than*

I don’t understand, why if you hate the campaign so much do people constantly join CAMPAIGN forum topics. If you hate it so much get the -Yoink- out. We don’t need your whinny trolling attention seeking -Yoink- in a discussion that you don’t even like.

She’s done it before, in the book First Strike (takes place between CE and H2) she copys a replication program from a covenant AI to make copies of herself to store data from the Halo ring on because it was causing her problems with her process. And I believe the data was starting to become corrupted.

It actually is possible and would explain the Halo ring. That’s a really good theory!

Given how Frank O’Connor insulted people for thinking Cortana was evil in Halo 5, I’m not sure it is just a rampant clone. Otherwise, Frankie would have acted pretty immaturely and defensively over a character who isn’t even really Cortana.

When did this happen?

Also semi-related I enjoyed the different personalities in Halo 4. Like that one creepy whisper voice that would sometimes comfort chief. “We’ll always take care of you…

“But my hopes for the future of the universe are that we can tell a realistic story. I saw a complaint online, somebody had been reading spoilers, they hadn’t played the game, and they said ‘Why is this character evil?’ And my question back to them is, ‘What makes you say they’re evil?’ Certainly a lot of our younger players are going to struggle with that subtlety, that nuance, because they’re expecting Darth Vader.”

Apparently you are just a young fan who doesn’t get subtly or nuance if you didn’t like Cortana bein evil.

Even if Halo 5 Cortana is a clone of the Classic Cortana, her appearance in Halo 5 as the main anatagonist still cheapens her plot and Master Chief’s emotional journey in Halo 4.

Cortana had split her self up maybe when she was moved to genisis.

And collected herself a different personality,
A more dominant personality got control.

Multiple? Not on the outside.

Agreed.

Unless he was being all cryptic by saying Cortana wasn’t evil because that wasn’t Cortana.

The way he phrased it certainly doesn’t sound that way but you can’t really take anything anyone says at face value anymore. Not after the lies 343 said about Halo 5.

She didn’t seem evil.
The unsc was over reacting because plot that’s why.

They also were pretty vague about what cortana was trying to do.

Fix ai got that.
Cure human disease?
Cortana has soo much knowledge she must have a phycology book somewhere…

People don’t like to be forced no matter what your forcing on them. “You will! Eat this cookie!”

Make them an offer explain it. Give them a choice.
If the don’t take it move on.

I simplicity won’t happen cuz it isn’t exciting enough for the plot.

That’s actually a good concept I mean the details are not there but you are on to a very promising story line twist that I think fans would like

How do you know they are fixed? Given that Cortana just straight-up murdered people it seems like her deterioration has stopped but she is still pretty rampant or at least stable but insane.

I’m pretty sure Cortana said that the domain cures rampancy. So doesn’t that kinda rule out the corrupt copy thing? She split the corrupt and rampant parts of herself and used them like an army to defeat the Didact. I doubt they would have made it through. If that is the case, that’ll be disappointing.

But there is ONE thing that bothers me a lot about the new Cortana. She says that those will join her “will no longer know hunger, nor pain”. Doesn’t that sound awfully like the Gravemind, who wanted to unify all life into the Flood so they could have eternal peace? Sounds similar to Cortana’s plan, doesn’t it? She wants to unify all life so they could live in peace and, like the Gravemind, is doing it by force.

Maybe it’s Logic Plague? Maybe this was the Flood’s plan all along? Maybe Cortana’s just goin’ cra cra? Maybe it’s because 343i had a former comic book writer to write Halo 5’s plot? Who knows? I don’t (though I do like the idea of the Gravemind being behind it all from the start. I don’t know why, his personality was just so… infectious…)!
