Do you think the graphics will be awsome

I think they will be awsome

I dont know if i think the graphics will be awesome or blow me away. I do strongly believe they SHOULD be, given this is the flagship game and the new Xbox is marketed as such. I would even venture to say that Halo should get “extra treatment” in that regard because of the aforementioned reasons.

I feel like you’re right. With all the extra time they’re taking, they should be able to make a very good looking game. Good luck 343i, (;

I think that extra time really will only afford them the game they were planning originally. With all the stress that the world has been under with the sickness it probably set them back a while.

They stated that our feedback had some impact a few months ago, but even still I don’t think that the graphics themselves will change as much as we’re thinking.

Part of the problem was MS putting Halo up as the centrepiece to launch the new consoles.

I don’t think Halo has ever, or even should be, focussed on super cutting-edge visuals. Not saying it shouldn’t look great - but if you want all the bells and whistles (eg. masses of ray traced magic) then you have to start making compromises in regards to the scope of what you put on the screen. Halo needs to be open world with epic battles that can unfold in multiple directions - not a tightly controlled on-rails shooter.

It’s unrealistic to expect the visuals to blow you away.

And don’t forget that first gen games on any new console are always a bit disappointing. Give it a couple of years for the API’s to mature and the devs to come to grips with what these new beasts can do and things will start to get interesting.

What began in Halo CE, was a stylized take on several sources including Aliens, and Starship Troopers. It was vibrant and moody; there was a definite ambience present in Halo.
When Halo 2 arrived, it played on some of those elements, and enhanced/removed some of the more cartoonist elements.
Halo 3 did wonders for color vibrancy and lighting, but unfortunately brought back some cartoonish themes such as the cheesy dialogue, and cartoony character models. Remember the moment where Miranda Keyes said, “To war.” I cringed so hard, it was like nails on a chalk board.
Reach, however, changed this. As it was a swan-song of Bungie, they dialed up the grit, toned back some of the color pallette, and made more anatomically correct haracter models-as far as humans go.

I was hoping for a mix of Reach as far a color pallette goes, and Guardians for some of the more detailed designs. Unfortunately, it seems like they went too far, and slab sided everything and made it seem like a Pixar movie interma if color vibrancy. I half expected there to be a cel-shaded option for how, almost cartoonist it looked.

I really hope they dial back the vibrancy, washout the colors, And as more details, as the game should look new, not just another rehash of a game we already have in the MC collection.

I was hoping for a mix of Reach as far a color pallette goes, and Guardians for some of the more detailed designs. However, I feel like they made the colors too vibrant, and the character models to plain and flat. While some of the designs are a welcome return, I feel like they missed the mark, playing it safer, rather than making a more definitive look and feel. To me, the Chiefs new Mk VI GEN 3 is a refresh to his old armor. But the color needs more grey in it. The visor color is perfect.

The Brute armor needs more details, it needs a more worn and weathered look, with the red highlights being muted like more of a brick red. I do like the muted greys of the armor plating, and browns for the leather straps. But the plates need more scuffing and dirt.

The Elites need more washed out armor colors. It looks as if the character model lighting is different from the levels lighting. They stand out too much from the background- this was the problem I had in Halo 5’s MP, as the spartans were almost highlighted against the level background.
The explosions, and plasma can be vibrant, and it would look amazing!

Honeatly i think it already looked fine what they showed in the gameplay reveal.i honeatly never played halo excepting the absolute best graphics to begin with. Look good, yes but never top of the line.

Am curious to see what they will be doing to the graphics though to improve them since they are doing that anyway.

This was extremely well written and analytical. NAILED IT

I don’t know for sure man and I’d rather wait to judge until we see some new footage; I think they’re hard at work trying to make the game look better. However, I think the single most important thing is the feel of the game - and unless they go for a completely cartoony artstyle, it is a given they’ll nail it.

They better be. It would be embarrassing for MS if their most marketed game for the “most powerful console ever” had the graphics of a late Original Xbox/PS2 game

Exactly! People that are coming up with the idea of “well im not worried about the graphics” and yada yada yada. Obviously gameplay should be the main focus but how in the world are you going to overlook that with EVERYTHING this new platform is marketed as??? I remember coming out of the cave after the preliminary H4 level and music cuts in and you look around at this beautiful vast landscape with forerunner architecture. Im sorry but if you dont consider the graphics to be a key component in this new journey then you are setting the bar awfully low.

The graphics better be improved because what we saw looked like a game from over 10+ years ago.

I don’t think anyone really expects Halo to be the best looking game out there but I do expect it to look next gen. What we got in July not only didn’t look like next gen it looked worse than some games on the 360.

I completely see your side and I respect it. I would say one thing is that Halo 5’s graphics to me were incredible and I was blown away, however, we all know how that turned out. I would say I am more than okay if the graphics don’t floor me if that means that I can get a game that actually feels like Halo and I can play for hundreds upon hundreds of hours. I think we will see much more detail on the armor and guns to take away that plasticy feel and that the things such as clouds and grass ghosting in will be fixed.

But at the end of the day, it looks super fun and I am super pumped.

The game won’t be the graphic monster because microsoft is pushing this 4K 60 FPS -Yoink-.

If they would made Halo Infite with 2K and 60FPS they could double the graphics

Look at Halo 2 Anniversary, this game looks fantastic but runs only at 1080 in 30fps. But it runs smooth on the Xbox One! So if Halo Infinite would be 1080 in 60Fps, this game would look fantastic, or 4K in 30FPS

Honestly, no. I wish the graphics could be the best considering its the flagship next gen game, but after the demo this year I don’t think its going to be the most brilliant looking game. Even with a delay. That lighting and pop-in was particularly ew. It looked like my failed attempts to mod Skyrim.

What I am hoping though, is that it will be a stylish game. From what we have seen, Infinite has some very pretty looking natural areas, and grand sci-fi architecture. To compare to Skyrim again, if I can wonder around a poor looking game and still say “wow” at the sheer beauty and scale of what the devs have made, I will consider it a success.

I think they’ll be a little bit better than what we saw in the demo. As long as the game runs smoothly I’m good.

Edit:
Opps, I posted in the totally wrong thread… lol
