I know every one had that moment of relief when the Didact fell into the composer, but do you think he is dead or alive (I think alive thanks to the terminals).
Cortana referred to the big swirly thing that the Didact fell into was a “Slipspace event”, so it was probably a slipspace portal he fell into. No idea where it could lead to.

Yeah, people seem to confuse the Composer with the slipspace underneath it. And even if the Didact were enveloped with the Composer’s energy, he’d be completely unharmed since he’s immune to its effects.

Yep, so basically he just got sent to wherever all the composed humans went. Which some ended up back on Requiem but that doesn’t mean all.
I had this thought ever since I completed the campaign. But all the hints I have seen say that he is clearly still alive.

I like turtles.
'Course he survived.
I think he is alive but if he didn’t go anywhere when he fell into the composer he should have died from the warhead that came shortly after.
Why would I want to be relieved when I didn’t even get to face him? He’s supposed to be my nemesis but the game does the dispatch for me? That’s unprecedented. That’s lame.
Just as unacceptable as 343 Guilty Spark was.
I’d rather have watched Chief do that in a cutscene, not partake in a pathetic attempt to relay immersion.
I’m 99% sure he’s not dead.
But I want a new enemy for Halo 5.
Yes and No:
No I don’t think he survived physically
but mentally he still exists in some form I do think he’ll come back
He didnt die if Master Chief can survive punching a nuke, falling from atmosphere and getting hit by the composer im sure the Didact survived

Ok , well this gets me thinking. I have for sometime thought cortana could be alive somewhere in the galaxy. and so could the didact. So what if the two merge? Kind of like how the gravemind can be heard in some of the cortana moments in Halo 3?
I think the reason why there was no boss battle in Halo 4 is they’re probably saving it for Halo 6. Hopefully they do, maybe even for Halo 5 or something.

We did? Because he didn’t have any character so I felt nothing. I was more concerned about the lame quicktime event to press a button.
I like to think he’s alive…I mean why else are the prometheans still helping the covenant…if the Diadact died wouldn’t they be free from his control?
Maybe when the didact fell into the slipspace event he was teleported back to requiem with the composed humans to be turned into knights, crawlers, watchers etc. And in spartan ops Jul seemed to think the didact was alive. so maybe the didact went to a covenant world.
