I’m not complaining about its kill time and what not, I just want to hear most o the community’s thoughts on if try think it will still be a viable weapon?
It looks like it, but its not a gun you want to keep shooting at the head, like Halo 3’s BR did. It’s something I keep seeing alot of people do when I watched the vids, and it would cause them to miss when they shouldn’t.
The recoil will inevitably make it harder to kill at very long ranges, something the DMR is better suited for. Thankfully, it looks like alot of the maps have plenty of ways to move around the map to get closer.
I think it’ll hold its ground well. Just don’t treat like the Halo 3 or Halo 2 BR, learn the recoil, and you’ll know what to do with it.
Going by its’ stats and video footage, I fear it may be purely in for nostalgia or as a training weapon for new players as it is easy to use.
BR has less spread than the LR, more bullet magnetism than the DMR and LR, and is easier to headshot with than DMR and Carbine because of the bursts.
It will be a good weapon to help novice and intermediate bridge the gap from fully-automatic guns to the LR/DMR/Carbine.
Honestly just seems like a beginner’s headshot weapon at this point, as there is no reason to use it over the other rifles.

That’s what im afraid of. However it seems viable like the gent above said if you use it at its intended range and aim for the body first
Can we just stop with this?
This horse has been beaten to death a hundred times over.
If you have any concerns of why it has changed please listen to the sparkcast.

This is what I’m starting to become scared of. I don’t believe it should be all powerful but nerfing it to the point of redundancy is stupid.

Haha, just messing with ya

Ill probably still use it if its slightly underpowered I just hope it’s not ridiculously outgunned
I am under the impression that if the BR killtime was 0.8 then a lot of people would be jumping with joy over how “balanced” it is…
We’ll have to see how it plays out when the game is launched, seeing how the guns feel and such.
Right now I don’t have much hope for the BR though. I think they should make it a 4 burst kill but lengthen the time between bursts to bring the kill time into line with the carbine.

That’s a ridiculous assumption that can only go down to some kind of misunderstanding on your behalf.
BR will have it’s moments and then once the nostalgia wears off I’m sure people with move on to the Light Rifle.
Yeah that’s what I wa thinking with the Burst. But if each burst takes down a quarter of the shields then the smallest bit of damage done before can make it a 4sk
Will the BR hold its ground? Not against me.

BR got nothing on my DMR skillz!
