Do you think that this would fix the betrayal problem?

Make it so that people who betray cannot pick up the weapon of the guy that they killed or get into their vehicle. It could be taken a step further and stop anyone they are teamed up with as well.

I do think that removing betrayals would take away an aspect of skill from the Halo franchise but I do realize that something needs to be done about this problem.

Would this idea adequately satisfy both the pool of people that think that betrayals need to be removed and the guys that think they should remain in the game? Give me your thoughts and tell me if you see a better solution to this problem.

If only there was a system that could pick out the dooche betrayals from the accidents.

343 should just make the player invinciable to freindly fire and the problem fixed

> If only there was a system that could pick out the dooche betrayals from the accidents.

No, i don’t think this idea is good. Because of what is written above, and when i betray, i betray for a reason. I betray when the level 10’s are taking the sniper and wasting all my bullets against a group of 50’s. This applies to all beginners, they take a power weapon, go to the enemy, and die. It gives the enemy free kills and weapons, and therefore i think it’s best that i handle the power weapons.

I never betray to get the weapon myself. If there is a person I know can handle the weapon he may use it. Ranked playlists for the win.

Someone needs to pull their head out, if you know what I mean.

I betray to win the game. There is no other reason i would betray for. I gladly let a person who can handle a weapon use it. And by the way I am talking about halo 3 where you actually have to win to rank up. Another reason for why we need a skill system in Halo 4.

It could help prevent selfish betrayals, but not for-the-hell-of-it betrayals (which are far more common).

Just no.

I say just make it so you need Two betrayals to be booted, BUT. Have every betrayal recorded into your stats and when you hit a certain number of betrayals, you can always be kicked on the first one, or maybe any damage you do to a teammate will be redirected to you. Because nothing annoys me more with Halo then when someone betrays me for the bloody weapon and I can’t kick, so I respawn and get into a vehicle and accidentally betray someone and kicked straight away.

Yes, just look at this one player i played with today. A beginner. Would you really let him carry any power weapons over yourself?

Yes. He got to the weapon first. That’s how it works.

That’s how it works if you want to lose.

You know what? I really didn’t care too much when I read the OP but after talking to you, I really hope they bring in his system.

You’re one of the problems in the Halo community: people who betray for power-weapons because they think all other players are worse than them.

> Yes, just look at this one player i played with today. A beginner. Would you really let him carry any power weapons over yourself?

Yes, that’s why weapons are free for anyone to grab and use. If you don’t get the weapon, than man up and take whatever you got and put it to use, you where given weapons when you spawned for a good reason. If you have to always get a power weapon to win a match than your not worthy to have it let alone punish those YOU deem unworthy to use it. This is one of the many player traits from the self proclaimed “Good” players that ruins game-play in Halo.

OP, great idea. One thing we could add though, is to give the player the ability at the end of the game to choose a reason why they booted the other player. If they get pegged as someone who betrays for weapons a lot, they can’t pick up any new weapons in any match for a day or two.

No i am not. Please check some of my games, on my newer account to see if i have betrayed anyone: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Halo3/Default.aspx?player=HalfSculpture25

If i know the person using the weapon can handle it and can position themselves correctly, they can have it. But if we are playing team objective for example, and are going to get the other teams flag, and our teammate is staying back with the sniper in our base trying to kill people, then i will betray them if they do not listen to me. It is completely useless to have a sniper standing at the back of the base when everyone else on the team is staying top mid and is trying to get the flag.

Edit : And why do you claim that i am the problem? Every skill of 40 and under is ruining my Halo Experience by making me lose.

Of course i can take whatever i get if we are WINNING and my teammates did a good job with the power weapons, but if we are losing and the player making us lose have the power weapons, i bet you that 99% of every 50 in the world would betray him. Ask anyone. When you play at such a high level as i do, most people don’t tolerate to lose and will do anything to win, both betray and cheat. I look at betraying as a completely okay thing to do, as long as you help the team by doing it. People have fun when they win. However, most people are smart enough to give the weapon to the person who is better. Even i give away, I give away the sniper all the time. When me I and my teammate is meeting together in a middle of a game, and I have a long-distance weapon and he has short-range weapon, we exchange, because he is the best with long-distance weapons and I am the other way around.

> 343 should just make the player invincible to friendly fire and the problem fixed

The way I see it is that getting rid of betrayals is a simple solution to a complex problem and would damage other aspects of the game. In halo you have to use your brain when it comes to heavy weapons and nades or your going to kill your teammates. Also you have to have skill in order to drive past your derpmates whilst not running them over. What the end result of turning off friendly fire would be is vehicles that flip when hitting teammates and heavy weapon and nade spam taking over too much gameplay. You should not be able to save your teammates life by shooting him with a rocket launcher.

What my idea does is not change the core gameplay but make it more difficult to be a D-bag.

And friendly fire also allows for funny accidental betrayals, it can’t be removed. Your solution is wonderful. If you actually betray someone accidentally, you won’t be needing their weapons anyway. This is definitely the right solution for fixing 99% of the betrayl problems without removing friendly fire.

> 343 should just make the player invinciable to freindly fire and the problem fixed

Halo needs to have betrayls, for the online community sake. Halo has the most online rage out of any XBL online community and it is just one reason why halo is awesome.
