do you think that halo is turning into cod?

Some people think halo is turning into cod do you? I dont

Nope.

Anyone who says that it is is being kind of an idiot. There are similarities, yes, but CoD didn’t invent them, and to say that it did is stupid.

No, but i do think think that 343 is appealing to that general audience.

halo 4 multiplayer was a lot like COD, but now it is no where even close to it by what halo 5 looks, It has gone enough back to the roots for it to be a halo game, but has enough new stuff to make it different.

It sure as heck seems like it’s borrowing a lot of gameplay features from Advanced Warfare. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, since the arena roots and fundamental mechanics are unchanged, but it doesn’t exactly scream innovation. I’m hoping for a little more originality.

That does seem to be happening, a couple of people I know used to really not like Halo, however, they say that Guardians looks quite good.

So maybe it is appealing to them.

343i changed halo into titanfall+ call of duty
i would like to call halo 5, as Call of titans.
i just want someone to make a video that compare H2A vs H5 and i can guarantee that the game play has changed 80% . it’s not halo anymore and i’m not going to buy it

3 years ago, when Halo 5 was being drawn up for the first time, I’m sure a lot of these ideas were innovative. Because Advanced Warfare and Halo 5 have been in dev alongside each other, it is pure coincidence that they have a thruster.

For the record though, Halo came up with thruster pack in Halo 4. If anyone copied anyone, CoD copied Halo.

In latest CoD we have thrusters, relatively long kill times and AAs (that includes camo and shield). Who copies who?

NOOOOOO! I remember when BF4s beta was out and everyone was saying that was turning into COD…in the end it was just BF4.

Good for you if you want to remain in the past. As for me I’ll be enjoying a much needed improvement in mobility in this series which will be the glorious Halo5.

He’s not remaining in the past just because he doesn’t like certain things that been added. Grow up and stop being a fanboy.

Grow up and stop using the term “Fanboy” and come up with something original you -Yoinking!- HERB!

That’s true.

It’s CoD that copies Halo considering Halo always seems to have things way before CoD does.

Nope, halo is halo

Another day . . . another CoD comparison.

I’ve said this before and I guess I will repeat it here. All FPSs share many similar elements. They must . . . else they would not be FPSs. All FPSs borrow ideas from each other. Halo 5 has borrowed an iron sight animation (but not the ADS mechanic) from a host of FPSs. CoD AW borrowed thrusters from Halo 4, which Halo 4 had in turn borrowed from multiple games simply by combining the jetpack concept with a one-button-evasion mechanic.

At the end of the day, there are only three things that truly distinguish Halo from CoD. Here they are, in order of importance (IMO):

  1. No hipfire penalty in Halo. Why this is the #1 difference (h/t to Vektor0 for first showing me this link).

  2. Long (1s - 2s) kill times with starting weapons. This means simply understanding the map and having a fast trigger does not guarantee victory.

  3. Even starts and on-map powerups / weapons. CE / 2 / 3 held to this explicitly. Reach had some departures from this; H4 had significant departures with the types of weapons that were allowed for loadouts and with the PoD feature. Halo 5 returns to the CE / 2 / 3 philosophy.

Everything else is cosmetic. Certainly the game will not play exactly the same way as new mechanics / features are added (like going from having to shoot drivers out of vehicles in CE to boarding vehicles in H2), but those differences do not get Halo any closer to CoD. Taking Halo closer to CoD requires altering the fundamental formula of no hipfire penalties, long starting weapon kill times, and even starts.

Those who don’t like the additions really need to start finding a better argument.

Appealing to the audience? yes. Copying cod? No.

In the end, the mnt dew faze clans wouldn’t have the patience for halo.

Halo 4 I’d say tried too much to be like CoD.

Halo 5 looks like more of a return to form for Halo, while also evolving the gameplay a bit. The new Spartan movement feel like more a of natural evolution of the mobility changes made in Reach.

In my opinion halo 4 was nothing like cod it just was a very different halo game it just had balancing problems with over saturation of power weapons.
