Do you think sprint will actually be in the game?

Honestly, it seems if 343i reads these forums at all, they would decide to remove it all together. Me, I could care less what they do with it, but it clearly showed sprint in the vidoc. It did say all things were subject to change, so I honestly have no idea how much they’ll take into consideration from the community.

Those maps looked to large to not have either sprint or a much faster base player speed.

343 have already said they don’t listen to the forums when it comes to mechanics. It’ll be in the game, regardless if we like it or not.

This.

Sucks people who hate sprint with a passion.

Because it was in the vidoc then most likely of course.

But i personally hope the Sprint-playlist’s are kept to a minimum, i mean the pro-sprint vs anti-sprint debates (constructive ones of course) simply point out that Sprint has no viable positives over faster base movement speed.

I have yet to see (and highly doubt i will) see one detailed positive on why Sprint is a good thing, anything sprint can do, faster base movement speed can do better.

I have yet to see a good reason why sprint is so bad, please enlighten me how much it changes the game.
You might want to give this a read.

Lets hope they read these forums than.

What am I saying? They’re too busy with neogaf…

Sprint WILL be featured in the game.

And sprint is fine for campaign and firefight. It would also fit in neatly with all the other features that introduce new variables, such as randomised weapon spawn timers, “perks” etc. But these should be the gametypes I want to check out and play when I don’t feel like playing competitively.

I just hope we have enough playlists that don’t feature sprint or armor abilities (except as pickups). Our own competitive set of playlists. Some could be completely classic, some could be like Reach (AA’s as pickups) and some could even have sprint only. As long as the competitive community has enough epic playlists to choose from.

I love the assumption that the inclusion of sprint automatically means a reduced base player speed. Reach did this, yes, but that was Reach, not Halo 4.

Base player speed in reach is about the same as H3 but the maps are much larger, which is why reach needed sprint.

I think it actually does mean reduced movement speed, by definition… Have you tried sprinting at 120% movement speed in Reach? It goes way too fast. And if you were to trip, you’d die lol.

Ever considered that Bungie designed the maps with sprint in mind, forcing them to make them bigger?

That’s cute, you ignore every post that tells you how stupid your little “situation” is and than say no one has countered your argument.

Very cute indeed.

Sprint and weapons are one and the same (if every player has it from start). It is no different from that BR you will have. You just have to know how to use it. They are both tools of death, speed, and precision.

Rounds in a BR clip = sprint power bar

I agree with this, any argument for Sprint has been countered in great detail.

I have yet to see any valid reason’s for sprint so it’s safe to conclude its a gimmick, nothing more. Sprint itself add’s nothing to gameplay but takes away a lot. There should be thread on the first page titled “what does sprint ADD” which i suggest you read (i assume you already have by now, hard to miss it really) in which so far no viable argument for sprint has been stated.

> Base player speed in reach is about the same as H3 but the maps are much larger, which is why reach needed sprint.

What maps are you referring to specifically? The only 4v4 map that comes to mind is boardwalk, and it wasn’t a great map anyway.

I love the new br, but not in favor of that dinner plate reticle. I think they just slapped that thing on, I hope they modify it.

Edit: wrong topic. Got locked anyways…

> Base player speed in reach is about the same as H3 but the maps are much larger, which is why reach needed sprint.

Im sorry but this is wrong, i have seen a few post’s made by yourself and i honestly have to say, with no insulting/offense intended, you really do not know what you are talking about.

Daitor raises a valid point, at this moment in time i really cannot see how sprint will work with a faster base movement speed so in all honesty any concern’s about a slower movement speed in Halo 4 are currently valid, until any info proves otherwise.

It’s the same reticule as Halo 2/ Halo 3’s BR, anything else is just Heresy!

Sprint doesn’t ruin the balance of the game. It adds dynamic to the game, making it feel new. It actually speeds the game up, for the power weapon rush. It allows people to get away, though not always. Whether or not you try to chase them down (They usually run to team mates, I know I do) is your judgement call.

Not having sprint is a thing of the past, and in all honesty, NOT having it kills some of the new-age appeal to Halo.
