Do you think Reed can pull this off?

Might seem like a buzzkill as everyone is excited, but this is kind of bothering me. But Brian Reed is the lead writer of the game. Many people seem nervous that Brian Reed might not be able to pull this off. I really hope that Reed can really have an emotional punch punch in there, especially progressing Chief’s character. I also hope Reed can make us care for Locke, even if he’s in the wrong. I really hope that Initiation, Spartan Ops, and some of Escalation was just limiting him. Do you think Brian Reed will be able to pull off and tell an emotional and cohesive narrative? Crossing my fingers…

Hopefully he learned from the Next 72 hours.

He’s lead writer but I’m assuming that doesn’t mean he’s the only writer. Either way, yes I am confident

I’m sure it will b fine, no worries. Now I don’t like Locke so if he gets me to care about him… Wow

This is probably my biggest worry for Halo 5. But I did heard there will be a Bioshock writer assisting him.

No.

He isn’t the only person writing the story. There is much more he can do with a full fledged game than a comic series.

I’m worried and no.

He’s probably no Joseph Staten, but anyone is a step up from the last guy. That said, I have hope

The last guy? As in the one who did Halo 4 and the beginning of Escalation?

Losing him was tragic for the story.

I’m optimistic. I haven’t disliked a Halo campaign yet, so I have no reason to be worried.

Hope so. I mean, Bungie’s writers pulled it off with Arby in H2

Yeah, him. I’m sorry you feel that way

I just don’t understand how anyone with any knowledge of the lore could have been disappointed with Halo 4’s story. The Librarian and Didact were Bungie characters, introduced in Halo 3, and they were handled expertly in the Forerunner Trilogy and then again in Halo 4. AI rampancy was a Bungie concept introduced in the lore long, long before Halo 4 came out. The way everything was weaved together in Halo 4 was just really excellent, even if fans of the games only were left a little out to dry.

I still say screw 'em. Don’t dumb down the story for fans who aren’t as invested in the universe.

Nah. My brother and everyone else I know in person who’s played Halo agrees he had to go

Detective Conan. Asking the tough questions.

Well to be honest I’m not sure… At the worst, things will play out like a Marvel comic, which is tolerable.

Lore is great. I’m miffed about how they treated Cortana, what I perceived to be melodramatic moments with fake emotional stakes, and an orange Darth Vader as the main antagonist - and the story is the only good part of the whole -Yoinking- game.

Spops had a good story Imo, just the gameplay was off.

If he was the lead writer behind Halo 4, then probably not. Most characters were kind of bland, and not really fleshed out. Del Rio, for example. Not everything has to in-your-face like how the story was the last game. In previous Halos, there were subtle moments, like seeing how Cortana and Chief get to really know each other, and there were just epic moments, like most Johnson-related things. I hope that the writers learn that forerunner artifacts aren’t all you want in a story. That being said, the story in Halo 4 wasn’t the worst story of all time, and the writers will get better.

So in summary, keep your fingers crossed.
