Just changed to an Elite in H2A today. I feel epic with my reload animations and purple HUD, but I also feel like a clumsy noob with a huge hitbox.
I play as an elite quite often (I change my armor and gender and species frequently in all the games). I’m not sure about the hitboxes, I would assume they’re roughly the same.
The Elite reloading a shotgun animation in H2A is beyond cool looking.
But nooby? I don’t know. I think it’s just a preference thing. There are some pretty serious Elite clans out there.

Meh, big heads = easy to shoot

There are some incredible Elite players out there.
II Dominatorr, El Flako Flees, and Kamikazi (used to play as elite for a while). All the gamertags are spelled a little wrong: no need to worry mods. I have managed to beat all of them in Halo 3, but ahhh … It’s hard!
I don’t really think so. It all depends on the player, and not the character model IMO.

Unless it’s in the back of the head…in which case it’s nearly impossible.
OG H2 had bigger hit boxs iirc. I still play elite regardless. People who think elites is nooby is quite ironic in itself.
I thought playing as a character with a smaller hitbox was considered nooby…

Not if you’re actively putting yourself at a disadvantage.
I’d probably only play as an elite for the “Win 10 games” achievement or whatever.
Out of every match I’ve ever played across every Halo throughout the years (including the couple of hundred I’ve played on TMCC) it seems like every elite I see on the enemy team is like cannon fodder, and then when on my time, results in a loss and they seem to score at least 5 kills or less…
Obviously not supposed to mean anything logical, but it seems like a trend.
I switch to an elite every once in a while for fun. They seem to be easier to kill because they are huge but I just think it’s funny to play as one because it’s more humiliating for the other team to get owned by someone playing as an elite.

Yup. But the head hitbox takes up almost half of the character model. Not good for competitive play.

Then don’t use them in competitive playlists maybe? Seems logical.
Still not a reason to completely give them the shaft…
That makes no sense, I’ve seen players use Spartans and Elites and go -20+ so not really sure what you’re talking about lol.
I use elites in H2A and haven’t felt like it was easier to get shot at, although i read in the Halo wiki that in the past their hitboxes were bigger, especially the head.

Bs the only game the hit box is broke in is halo 2. And I still play elite there too. Halo 3 I have never noticed it being easier to kill or be killed. Actually it’s harder to kill from the back. Find me on Bungies old stats and you would know I’m not even close to a noob
Yes I’ve definitely heard the “The ones who play as elites are noobs/10 year-olds” stigma over the years…
Me? I’m constantly changing my armor and character model and play as an elite quite often…and have seen elite players that are actually quite skilled
I played with friends who would only switch to Elites playing Swat in Halo 3. It is a little harder to hit an Elite in the head from behind in Swat, but it’ll really only throw off bad players.
Obviously it’s not just noobs who use elites. However, in my own experience the elite players are always easy kills.
