Do you think MCC will die with infinite's release?

With Infinite being the next big halo game launching on multiple platforms, how much of an impact do you think this will have on the MCC’s population?

I’m sure it’ll definitely pull numbers away from MCC, but there will always been a small group of people on at anytime that want to play the “classic” halo titles

Initially, yes, but MCC will outlive Infinite.

I think with the CGB, that MCC will live forever.

It depends on how good infinite does, if everyone hates it, then MCC would probably be the main halo game for the next 10 years.

I will remain active on Halo 3 (MCC).
Im going to play Infinite aswell but Halo 3 will always have a special place in my heart.
But to anwser your question: I think there will still be a playerbase playing MCC daily.

Depends on how much Infinite will suck. If Infinite is everything we hope it to be, I’m guessing MCC will be dead except for H3 Slayer and Firefight.

I also don’t believe that MCC will get any content after a successful launch. Maybe a skin or two in the Exchange for special occasions but nothing more.

I’m having trouble seeing them tackle a live service game and supporting MCC with their track record.

Campaign, no. The enduringly classic, fun campaigns will NEVER die.
Multiplayer will definitely lose a good chunk of the player base but I think it’ll stay afloat for a few more years in the extremely popular playlists like H3 4v4 & H3 BTB.

I’m still going to play MCC. But how much depends on how good Infinite is.

Obviously, the first weeks we’ll see a very big drop on the player base. Btw, I think it depends much on infinite capturing the “essence” of halo. If it doesn’t, many people will stick with MCC, embracing both nostalgia and gameplay they are used to.

The first week, yes. I think a lot of people will move over. However, I think a lot of players won’t enjoy the changes made and will go back to the classic titles. If Infinite isn’t a flop, I’ll definitely move over. But even if it’s amazing, I will always go back and play MCC as well.

I think MCC will probably die withe the new halo game coming soon. especially with the new game having all new toys and story line. but MCC will probably still live withing the next 2 to 3 years later.

MCC will always be a thing, but infinite will definitely drop the MCC population.

Honestly I think I may end up playing more MCC eventually since I’m not sold on the Infinites multiplayer. I mean Infinite multiplayer looks ok but MCC reminds me why I liked playing Halo in the first place while 4,5 kind of just frustrates me. I think at the end of the day MCC might get less population for a while but sure it’ll be ok in the long term.

Plus even if Infinite comes out I’ll still be trying to complete my challenges on MCC too and probably play more on MCC if the challenges becomes the only way to rank up in Infinite since exp only challenges sound exhausting and frustrating.

That is true, I mean, I will continue playing MCC because I like to play its campaigns and farm xp, so I will play MCC try to complete all week challenges and stuff like that.

According to the Steam charts, it’s basically already dead. There will most likely be a few remaining CGB servers, but I doubt finding a game in matchmaking will be possible in 2022.

I agree. MCC will be played for many years to come.
