now i heared a lot of people sayin that 343 would never do something like the changes they actually did and halo is becoming mainstream because microsoft wants to make more money with halo

I can’t blame Microsoft for wanting new Halo games its their only worth while franchise that they own other than Forza and they are losing the AAA exclusive battle with Sony big time. As for the direction that the games take I’m sure all decisions are with 343i.

Both. Microsoft wants to milk this franchise dry and 343i are the ones who were hired to carry that out. At this point, they couldn’t give 2 -Yoink- about keeping people happy, their only concern in money.

IF halo didnt change it would die. Look what happened to gears of war. Used to be a competitor of battle field, cod and halo. Now gears of war 3 came out BARELY 6 Months ago, and its already number 7 and falling. The only reason it gets a LITTLE push is because of a new map pack coming out then it falls to 8 or 9.
COD is the only game that can keep the same old formula over and over. Do you know why? Because its the EASIEST Shooter on consoles. Its a casual’s paradise. Did you also know? CASUALS ARE THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE GAMING POPULATION. If halo kept its old formula the only people playing it would be the hardcores and the handful of casuals that just like halo. Halo 4 would be as far back (if not farther) than gears 3.
Gears 3 kept the same old formula and its falling. I refuse to see the same thing happen to Halo. Halo Reach is still competing with the top 5 games on xbox live regardless of what your opinion of the game is, and halo 4 will do the same.
You think you understand how the gaming community works. YOU THINK because of your nostalgia and opinion of how the old halo’s play, you can judge what is best for the franchise and what will keep it alive. Well you cant. You only know what YOU have experienced where as microsoft and 343 know what to do in order to put this game at number 1 again. They are the ones with the bigger insight. Not the members of these forums who have only PLAYED the halo franchise.

And these changes are offering something new, god forbid they try and change things up. not to mention i guarantee weapon drops are for a specific gametype, x-ray vision is going to be different from what everyone thinks. and im waiting to see what they say about aa’s in general.

A new halo game came out every 3 years up until Bungie and Microsoft split. Microsoft then forced Bungie to make 2 more Halos as part of the deal, so we got the expansion pack that was called a full game and Reach back to back and now Halo 4 is coming out two years after Reach. Microsoft is trying to force out as much Halo content as possible.

THANK YOU. I dont understand how people think they are psychic and know EXACTLY how these features are going to work. GI didnt even clarify or give ANY details on these in game features so HOW IN THE WORLD is halo 4 a guaranteed COD rip off? People bashing halo 4 are just pulling anything they can out of the air to delude themselves into thinking this game is bad.
Ther is NO PROOF yet that halo 4 is a cod ripoff. Until we get clarification or gameplay footage anyone that says halo 4 is a cod ripoff is just WRONG.

halo 3 dominated the play charts for YEARS so your point is invalid

Wrong. ODST was co made by the previous named 343 industries, and bungie. SO it wasnt a forced effort. And no it wasnt considered a FULL Game. Thats why it said HALO 3: ODST. It was obviously an expansion. As for halo reach, bungie started production on that BEFORE halo 3 even came out so no, microsoft wasnt forcing anything it was all in the contract.
343 Started work on halo 4 AFTER ODST came out. So thats a long and relaxing time period to have to work on a game as big as halo. Microsoft isnt just yelling PUMP OUT HALO’S LIKE CRAZY!
Look at EA and Activision if you want an evil developer / publisher that runs franchises into the ground.
Yeah, Microsoft was clearly behind a game with free weekly content.
