Do you think it would be cool if a member(s) of the halo 3:odst squad is a spartan IV in Halo 4? They always used to say if Buck were any better he’d be a spartan, it would be so BA if the whole squad came back as spartan IV’s.

It is actually very possible Buck will become one, but don’t get your hopes too high.
I could only see Buck or The Rookie becoming a Spartan IV.
Personally I think it would be kind of cheesy for all of them to just to turn into Spartans. Maybe a member or two would. Keep in mind that ODST and Spartans have a bit of rivalry going on also. So I doubt proud, experienced ODST’s would jump ship and become Spartan IV’s.

I don’t think the odst’s and spartans have time for any army ranger vs delta force rivalry’s and who wouldn’t want to become an even better solidier.
Dutch could become the new Jorge, lol.

Well they did have some time for it during the Human-Covenant war. So post war between halo 3 and 4 they definitely have time. It’s been referenced a few times that ODST’s sort of had a rivalry with Spartans. Sort of how I know Marines who -Yoink- talk the Army and the other way around. I’m sure some of the ODST’s would consider some of their fellow soldiers to be “sellouts” for turning their backs on the ODST. Pride of ones military group tends to be pretty strong, even in the real world. This wouldn’t be much different.
I’d rather not see that, Buck was useless in ODST and at best a comic relief when he fell to his death in Reach (glitch). I think the ODSTs should remain a ODST squad instead, and to be honest Buck is far from the most likeable character (decent comic relief, no morE). I’d say “If Buck were any worse, he’d be a grunt”.
Buck as a spartan really shows the budget cuts… 
Either all of them or none, the ODST was a team and should live (or die) as one
