Do you think it means something?

Something noticed in the gameplay videos/trailers of Halo 4, is that whenever Master Chief, or the SpecOps Squad get into a fight with a Promethean knight, the crystals on the Promethean are red. But there are some clips of Blue Promethean knights.

Do you think this is just colour coding the shield strength of the enemy? Or could this be a hint that some Prometheans will be friendly?

Blue Promethean shown around 2:14

Who knows?

The red ones could be rampant or they could be controlled by the actual Ancient Evil…

This is obvious.

Do you really want me to explain?!

Christ, fine then.

But use your brain next time.

Coupled with the fact that Cortana said these are “Non-organic” species, I believe that either the Forerunners assemble them themselves with crystals from some planet ie the different colors OR they are naturally grown from those crystals and have an allegiance to the Forerunners. Of course whichever color crystal they come from dictates the color and it may be the color varies on the planets they are on.

THERE, was that SO hard!?

Christ.

Congratulations, you came up with a theory.

My point is because previously in Halo colour has meant one of two things, either ally vs enemy (multiplayer, Covenant Phantoms), or rank/difficulty of enemy (Elites, Grunts etc).

After reading both Forerunner books I refuse to dislike the Didact. He’s my favorite character in the entire series, as well as the deepest. My personal theory is we’ll battle the Didact in Halo 4 until 343i takes us to installation 07 where we’ll meet Faber, aka the Master Builder. The blue Promethean Knights and Crawlers look very different from the orange colored Forerunners we see in the E3 trailer. Frank O’Connor has confirmed we will see a few different locations in Halo 4 so I’m going to guess installation 07 will come into play a role at some point (Halo 4 title screen). Or they could be a higher tier of Prometheans. Have any of you read the Forerunner saga?
