does anyone think invasion should return or have i missed something saying whether it is or isn’t
it was one of the few gametypes i could happily play for a ages, (aside from slayer ctf and forge)
but as the human/covenant war is over, would it still make sense to add it in, although there is still tension between the humans and sanghelli, it would do nice for gameplay anyway dont you guys think? i personally think this was a great gametype and im hoping 343 decide to keep it
EDIT- also was thinking maybe add in a VIP style mode on it say one player is nominated VIP on the team, gets an overshield and slight increases to speed, health and damage, when he dies the tier ends, obviously players have the choice of using it or not as when making custom invasion gametypes
also thinking a tug of war variant maybe, 5 tiers, start on 3 it works on objectives or kills depending on settings. once timer runs out or a team reaches score limit the tier changes, if red wins it goes up, if blue win it goes down, blue have to get to 1 and red have to get to 5, different weapons/vehicles and objectives for each tier
Yes, but I hope it will not be as bland as the current one. I would like a more “full scale battle” type thing, as the present “sticky wat” is boring as -Yoink-

Ever seen another post about why its RedvBlue? Something like Beaver Creek has forerunner and precursor symbols, so they built colorful flowers in Forge World.
I think it should be in Halo 4 just cause it’s an unique gametype. I don’t play it much because after a while it got boring. But to have a map that unlocks according to what the players do is a great mechanic and shouldn’t be forgotten.
The OP’s edit is not very clear, but from what Im reading, its sounds like a really un-fun, overpowered form of Invasion Skirmish or whatever it is called.
Id like to see it return with a few new options. maybe allow spartan vs spartan and elite vs elite invasion. also, id like to see the ability to change the number of rounds and set uneven teams. (maybe 4 teams, one attacks and the other 3 defend) the attacking team could have advantages such as weapons, power-ups and stats (faster move, extra damage rsistance), and has to act as a team and use strategy to capture objectives). Id also like to see the ability to set object destruction as an objective (destroy the enemy tank in order to allow the team to advance).
It might also be interesting to apply some of these options to other game modes (for custom games).
EDIT: Just thought it would also be a good option to allow you to change the number of stages (tiers?) and the time you have for each stage/tier.
Personally I think Halo 4 should allow for three types of characters to be used in Multiplayer: Spartans, Elites and the New Guys. This would add for more variety and it would allow for an Invasion where Spartans and Elites can be on the same team against the New Guys. That would be cool IMO.
If you played halo 3, i think you might remember there was a game type called VIP. he’s basically asking one round to be like a game of VIP, just like currently we have territories, assault, and CTF as objectives.
If you are going to to that, might as well add a slayer round, prevent the enemy team from getting X kills during this stage to the game.
I would like to see it return. Invasion never got enough map love in Reach…hence it became boring. Community maps are a hard thing to add though. So many of them are unbalanced. It took me 5 months of play testing and fixing before mine was done.
