The overwhelming feeling that I’ve gotten from the beta is that there are multiple bugs that affect the game in major ways, from something as fixable as too many grenades to intrinsic game functions like movement speed and controller feeling. So I want to ask you guys: Do you think Halo Infinite is ready for launch on December 8? (a little over TWO MONTHS AWAY.)
I personally do not think it is. With the bugs I encountered, one of them literally game-breaking, and the constant outpour of negative feedback, I just don’t think 343 gave themselves enough time to fix some things. Every single forum post I’ve seen is negative or has a negative feel. Every single person I played with this weekend encountered a game-breaking or game-ending bug, and I couldn’t log in at all last night to round out the weekend. I couldn’t use my preferred input method because of a bug that’s been around since the closed beta, and occurs so infrequently that I only found one or two forum posts about it, which were buried under “why my spartan move too slow”.
I don’t think 343 can afford to delay it again, and will do anything to avoid doing so, so it will be a buggy launch that will make the MCC launch look like Halo 3. But what do you guys think? (also please be nice down there)
the flight is apparently a couple months old, which I’m assuming means we’re playing a build 4-6 months before launch. they definitely have enough time to fix the game, the question is will they be able to
No, I don’t. Vehicle sounds and feel aren’t very good, the aiming feels weird, 343i’s focus on the AR is pretty -Yoink!- awful, the new radar is bad and they should use the first flight one, my customization feels knecapped by a “Dance Monkey Dance” type of progression that I am not at all excited to play nor want to, as I am oh so very tired of challenge hunting in a myriad of games - like me logging on to play and unlock something isn’t enough anyway, like they HAVE to market these challenge swaps and XP boosts. The outline system is absolutely frakkin’ terrible and the last two things I brought up are driven by pure capitalism over gameplay. It’s a serious problem and a lot of these things aren’t going to be addressed for at least a year.
No but it never is, the game will release broken and without half the features…the community will be split and some will be alienated completely. The game might be worth it 3 years from now…but wait…multiplayer is free to play so we can’t hold them to standards anymore…
Remember this game’s multiplayer is freemium, so if you don’t like it, it doesn’t matter because someone will spend $1000 dollars on microtransactions making your lack of purchase an acceptable loss.
It all started with Rec packs, now we’re going full fortnite boys! Open dem wallets and let daddy -Yoink!- have a peek.
People need to remember that this is a build of the game that is several months out of date. Literally the first multiplayer trailer of the game that featured Yoroi looked a lot better than the flight build we are playing on right now. I blame a lot of companies nowadays that completely muddled what a beta meant and what it was suppose to be. Nowadays betas for a lot of games are basically just finished products that typically have 90% of the content locked out and it more meant to give players an early taste of the game than actually play test it for bugs. Halo Infinite flights are basically what betas of the old were more like where the game devs gave out versions of the game and basically told you to be on the look out for bugs and various errors or balancing issues.
So is the technical preview we played pretty rough right now? Yeah and that’s partly the point. This isn’t going to give an accurate depiction of what to expect at launch, but it’s more to point issues that 343 may or may not be aware in the main build so they can adjust it beforehand.

While I agree that it will release in a completely broken state, I don’t think it’s meant to encourage MTX. Multiplayer will make money from the (cosmetic only) Battlepass. Thankfully, the industry has mostly moved on from lootboxes or P2W mechanics and I think 343 is going to follow suit. If it doesn’t, the backlash will be so bad they’ll delete them anyway
After seeing how much improved between flight 1 and 2, and knowing that the build we are playing is still a pretty old build, I think it will be ready. The Multiplayer that is. I do not believe Campaign is ready to launch without Coop, no matter how complete the single player is coop is a core function of Campaign and has been since 2001.

YES. I think that’s what I’m most worried about. There’s just so much wrong with the build they showed us. And a lot of it isn’t even bugs. The entire community seems to hate the movement, the radar, sprint, whatever.
I think the problems everyone has been mentioning are easy to fix. All I see is AR, Aiming, and Sbmm. If that’s what everyone is mad about then I think the game is fine. I already know it wont have all the gamemodes, forge, etc but tbh I am already used to games releasing unfinished.
100% yes. The issues with the flight are things that get fixed in the final leg of development. Minor balance changes, optimization, minor bugs and things like that are all that I really noticed. Nothing game breaking by any means. And this flight was likely a months old slice of the game, meaning a lot of these issues have probably already been fixed. Not seeing campaign yet almost 2 months from launch concerns me, but multiplayer will be absolutely fine.
Infinite is at least more ready for launch than it was this time last year when it was getting close to the original launch. I’m still chapped about Forge being delayed by 2 seasons (5-6 months) but I guess I’d rather it be a little late and ready rather than completely busted.
No, but not because of anything in the flight. What issues I have there seem to be the kind that can be fixed for launch, maybe give or take the aiming qualms. The lack of forge and co-op, however, are two major sticking points for me. The former is HUGE for custom games, and the latter is the way quite a few people prefer to experience Halo’s campaign. Speaking of, we still haven’t seen much of anything from campaign since the E3 trailer, which is potentially concerning.

Pointless…we should have never gotten to this point… people will eat -Yoink- and like it.

But they don’t, the majority love the radar how it is now albeit some want it to have more range. And sprint is minimal and the response has been positive because of that. The response to the game has been highly positive.
I doubt it, there were some pretty glaring issues in this flight and I know it’s an older build from a couple months ago but still. Besides that, the live service aspect of Infinite is a perfect excuse for Microsoft/343 to release Infinite in an unfinished state and just fix it as time goes on. It’s not even just the developers either, it’s become so normal now that plenty of gamers have become complacent with this practice and even advocate for games to be finished after release. Microsoft and the rest of the AAA industry are aware of the financial success of releasing unfinished products to receive earlier paydays and as long as people support that, it’s not gonna change anytime soon.

I thought it was a lot of fun. Agree with the outlines, switched teammates to yellow and kept the enemy as red. Turned off names above team yes and put them over enemies, haven’t had an issue since maybe u should try that.

Not something I can do while it’s offline lol, but I might try that. The problem is that the names come up only when you’re looking at them. The outlines screw with rapid target acquisition - a problem NO other Halo game has at ALL.

I agree in the fact that player expression or whatever they called it isn’t worth the change. Red vs blue on team games makes sense. I’ll play ffa if I want my color shown. I was honestly thrown off a bit more when characters were purple.
the names should only pop up when looking at them or else u would know where everyone is at all times

> TLDR: Too many bugs, too little time.
2 months should be enough time for them to iron it out I think… at least it should be with a team as big as them. The games nearly finished.
