i read a post by a game website that was before the anouncement of halo4 saying that halo4 is being made for a new xbox console, now it maybe a longshot but i think there maybe some truth in this, we havent seen any footage from the game at all?

what about the 360slim? they announced it at e3 and it was in the shops within a couple of weeks

But, you don’t need to buy it to play new games.

The 360 slim is the 360 just in a new shell, it literally has no advantage over any other 360 unit other than the shelling being smaller.

Actually yes it does have a few differences, the main one being the coolant fans work much better preventing overheating and/or RRoD.

You still don’t need to buy it to play new games.
Halo 4 wont be on a new console, they couldn’t just announce a new system and expect everybody to purchase it that same year. I do believe that Halo 5 and 6 will be on the new systems.

That has to do with the shell. So no, it is just the same console in a new shell.

I can garuntee that Halo 4 will be on the Xbox 360. There will be a limited edition Halo 360 for Halo 4, including controller maybe even Kinect sensor and all the other doo dads.
The next Xbox won’t come out till 2014/ 15.

Halo 4 started it’s production as soon as Halo 3 was released.
It was kept a secret for some time, but they’ve been working on it for a while.

The xbox 360 was officially announced in May of 2005 and launched 6 months later. Granted there were tons of rumors and leaks leading up to the official announcement, but if you search through the interwebs you will find there already have been leaks, such as it’s confirmed that AMD will be producing the next box’s gpu. Plus all the leaks that devs already have dev sku’s of the next box which actually makes perfect sense because it takes 2-3 years to make a game, even more reason why 2013 more then likely then not will see the 360’s successor’s launch.
A lot of people forget that the R&D for the successor of a console usually begins right when it is launched.
Expect to see a ton more information with an official announcement of said console in 2012 or 2013. The next box will definitely be on the market no later then the 2013 holiday season. For this reason I believe there will be a second release or dual release of Halo 4 if the 360’s successor is launched during the 2012 holiday or released during the 2013 holiday season.
