It would definitely be nice to have them be playable in some form, preferably in the return of Invasion, as it were in Reach.

Considering that the elites we fought aren’t the elites we know, just loyalist to their religion, I can see in Halo 5 the covenant separatists returning along with the Arbiter as allies with the UNSC fighting against the Prometheans and Storm. So, if 343i still wants war games to be canon, they could add elites to be playable. (Like Halo 3, really hoping)

Wouldn’t it be awesome to pick a race? Spartan or Sangheili? When you get into matchmaking/war games, you have to pick a race. (How to change back and forth, I don’t know. I would so much love that.
