Do you think Chief is a forerunner?

I understand about geas but what if he was a forunner all along? He had an Ancilla too.

No

This again?

Plot twist

Yeah… As if ONI wouldn’t have spotted the alien they abducted into their super-soldier program and just dissected him instead…

No.

This theroy is all based on things said by 343 gs written by a different company before the Halo universe was expanded upon in the books and other media. At the conclusion of H3 we were supposed to be led to believe that forerunners and ancient humans were the same

I don’t think so. The usual theory is that Master Chief somehow had the Iso-Didact’s geas planted into his genes, however in the books the Librarian never had any possibilty to do so. Also, 343 Guilty Spark thinking that Master Chief was the Iso-Didact in Halo CE could just be bacause he had an increasing rampancy.

My Reaction

Negative, the Master Chief is human… and the Librarian confirms it in Halo 4 during her talk with him. The Halo 3 era 343GS line about him “being Forerunner” can be attributed to the similarities between the Chief and the Iso-Didact.

[Facepalm]

No

In the books and in Halo 4 the Liberian did explain to Chief that he was the culmination of years of work, that Cortana was no accident, which means Halsey too.

I know the Librarian adapted Chief’s shields to resist the Composer.

I do believe he did have the Iso-Didact’s geas and 343 Guilty Spark Aka Chakas was not rampant. When Chief was on the Pillar of Autumn and it was entering the region of Installation 04 343 recognised that he was indeed the Reclaimer and allowed them passage.

I don’t believe that. Thanks for the explanation but in the Halo anniversary terminal, the first one what conclusions do you draw from that?

The Librarian believed humanity had the potential to surpass the Forerunner and inherit the Mantle. Humanity are Reclaimers for a reason and suddenly dropping the “twist” that humanity’s greatest hero is actually a Forerunner would completely ruin what they’ve established.

All of those things were part of the Librarian’s plan. Her original plan intended for the Ur-Didact to wake up and be a guide for humanity, so there was no reason for the IsoDidact to be imprinted on anyone. Especially when the IsoDidact was still alive at the end of the War. After the Librarian discovered the Domain would be destroyed and the Ur-Didact wouldn’t get the meditation he needed, she was trapped on Earth with no way to come up with a Plan B.

We’ve also never seen a Forerunner imprinted on a human before. Humans imprinted on humans and Forerunner imprinted on Forerunner but never Forerunner on human or human on Forerunner.

She adapted him, not his technology.

Yes, 343 Guilty Spark was off his rocker for sure. We can see his slow descent in the CEA terminals. His mind was made up of compartmentalizing Chakas’ mind, so it’s very easy for him to get his memories confused and somehow believe the human he was with was a 100,000 year old Forerunner.

Geas does not change who/what you are. Even if he had the didact’s, he’d still be a human.

I thin the non-nuts way to take Spark’s comment is rather that he’s hinting at the fact chief’s the product of forerunner plans. You would call Infinity human in origin, but you don’t expect it to literally be a human being.

Very interesting theory.
