If Halo Infinite is held back and released as a launch day killer app with the next Xbox it could find that old traction the franchise used to have, if MS spends 500 million dollars marketing the heck out of Halo Infinite & the next Xbox that is
It could be start of a right direction but im not waiting miracles.
OP, there’s really no telling right now. We need to see more to make a guess like that. They definitely seem like they’re trying though.

Halo Infinite has been confirmed to be a current gen game on Xbox One and Windows 10.
At this point I’m starting to think Halo is suffering from incurable franchise fatigue, but I’d like to be proven wrong with this next title.
Halo 6 better hit it out of the park in everyway, in every area. If not, I think some major changes/re-evaluations are going to happen at 343I, Microsoft and the Halo franchise as a whole, as in maybe we should try to have another franchise become the face of Xbox. Heck, I’d argue Halo is isn’t the face of Xbox right now really. I think you can make a strong case that Frozen is.
Halo doesn’t need to be the number one game out there, but it needs to be one of the top games on xbox as far as sales, popularity etc. It needs to be relevant again!! What I mean is, it’s needs to be the reason you want to buy an Xbox like it used to be. Right now, I don’t feel like it is. It needs to be that good where people go “yup I’m buying Xbox for halo” like it was.
Also, i love my PC and such, but I think if the full version of halo 6 is on PC as well, I think ultimately it will hurt Xbox sales but it should help Halo sales on the flip side. You hear/read it all the time, there’s no reason to own an Xbox when you can get x game on PC. Well, at least I do. I’m sure they will have some kind of feature that console people will play console people because there’s no way in hell I would ever play a FPS on a console against someone with a mouse and keyboard.
Doesn’t matter what type or style of Halo you like, you better just hope the next one is amazing! Halo can’t keep having these below average/average games (that’s how the majority of people see it anyways)
Halo doesn’t need saving, 5 was great.
Infinite looks to be taking it in all the wrong directions.

And what do you supposed they do? A remake like God Of War?
If they don’t the same gameplay mechanics, I maybe could agree with this.

They need to not cut corners. They need to have a complete experience on launch day. They need to have rich features that foster a community. A functioning forge on day one. A functioning theater on day one. A functioning in-game file share and customs browser on day one. These are the things that allows a community to flourish and make memories. They need to stop half-assing features that matter. A lot. They also need to get the gameplay right (simple yet deep), but that’s a whole different discussion.
It depends how much content and options the game has DAY ONE. If they’re isn’t much to do at launch (Halo 5) then people will move to other games quicker and probably not go back. I believe the new engine and art will help performance and player interest immensely. Start Halo Infinite with some deep roots for players to sap on for years to come. I don’t think that was a good analogy but yeah.
Halo 5 is great. I loved it. Campaign is really the kicker tho and they just made poor executive decisions is all.
I dont think Halo has died its only adapted to newer audiences. They heard our opinions and are using them to reflect on whats to come.
343I needs to start now by watching itself with its own marketing. They need to advertise more than previous titles, but not at the expense of using half truths like halo 5s marketing campaign. At e3 we saw an engine demo, but there’s a lot of buzz being generated by the scene of chief putting an blue ai chip in his helmet. This brings a lot of assumptions, and 343I needs to keep that in check this time around. No “fake news” in marketing this time .
Halo infinite has to follow the golden halo triangle
The rest is eh…
Classic artstyle. Check.
Classic soundtrack. Check.
Halo ring. Check.
All they have left to do is to bring back classic gameplay without sprint and abilities and you have a true Halo game.

And that new audience is waaaay smaller than the old audience.
Well we know almost nothing about Halo: Infinite so it’s really hard to even guess. I hope they do but we’ll have to wait and see.

Remember that Halo 5’s lack of content at launch, plus microtransactions made 343 look like all they want is to make money.
It is Bungie that kicked off Halo, with Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 (ODST also), and lastly Halo Reach. 343 just needs to aim for the sweet spot (ALL content at launch, Classic gameplay mechanics, and much more consumer friendly micro transactions) and it will soon be the most played game out of all the Halo series. Even kicking Fortnite off its throne IF it is lucky.
Too early to call, mate.
come on guys no arguments just a solid answer

> - Remember that Halo 5’s lack of content at launch, plus microtransactions made 343 look like all they want is to make money. The Kerminater didn’t say it was perfect, as Halo 5 certainly had/has its share of issues. But I’d have to agree with them, Halo 5 was indeed a great game. Halo doesn’t really need any saving, but that doesn’t mean shaking a few things up would hurt either. The classic/mixed art style is looking pretty sweet; albeit I’m against dialing the movement mechanics backwards to the classic days. Fortunately we don’t know anything about Halo Infinite’s gameplay mechanics yet so it’s far too early to criticize it for something we don’t know yet. Also what we do know for certain is that Halo Infinite will bring back split screen, which is a step up from Halo 5 (in that regard). I’m curious as to what else The Kerminator was referring to… - It is Bungie that kicked off Halo, with Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 (ODST also), and lastly Halo Reach. 343 just needs to aim for the sweet spot (1. ALL content at launch, 2. Classic gameplay mechanics, and 3. much more consumer friendly micro transactions) and it will soon be the most played game out of all the Halo series. Even kicking Fortnite off its throne IF it is lucky. - ”ALL content at launch,” is an unrealistic expectation. Just about all games add content after launch these days, which is a marketing tool to retain players and to bring back old and new fans. Perhaps “A more complete product at launch,” was what you meant? - Classic gameplay mechanics were a great thing of the past, but Halo should never revert all the way back. At a minimum s****print should definitely stay, along with clamber. - This is too generalized. What do you even consider as “consumer friendly micro transactions”? - Too early to call, mate.Agreed
It really depends on how many old and new community members it draws in. Halo Infinite has a large chance to revitalize the franchise, If it is smart enough to have a return to form like it has displayed with the artwork. Of course it is still too early for such speculation, but such prospects are exciting.
