I personally don’t think it was a good idea to put people up to the higher ranks after only 10 games.
I understand the logic of wanting the best players not to have to stomp noobs before they get to the higher ranks, but
-
It was too easy to get to Onyx/Diamond. I finished 4/5th in my FFA’s in unranked, and I was immediately put up to Onyx?!!
-
Unranked players get matched up with Onyx and Diamond players anyway, so the ranks are irrelevant when it comes to matchmaking.
-
If we make everyone work there way from Bronze 1, it will mean that eventually it will even out, and the true best players will face each other at the top, rather than getting such a mix of skill in the same class.
-
This will lead to less noobs quitting because they are getting stomped, and classes will mostly be filled with people of the same skill level, and you’ll be able to feel yourself facing tougher opponents as you rank up in class.
Onyx
Diamond
Platinum
Gold
Silver
Bronze - Everyone starts here.
- Also when it comes to matchmaking, only match people up with people in the same class!!!
I’m pretty sure they reset monthly or every couple
Welcome to Halo 5, where ranks are made up and the points don’t matter.

I know. I want to see the ranks mean something again like they did in H3!

This system will be slow at the beginning, pro will be match against noobs, but in the long run it will all be sort out so pro are playing pro and noob are playing noob. I think it would be a better system than 10 match to rank.

Mine have not been reset at all!

Agreed.
First week pros will stomp noobs, but it will sort itself out like you said.
I simply don’t care about ranks. It would be totally fine with me.

I said or every couple months, I’m sure they are going to once the update hits. I know for a fact they do reset though
Make everyone work their way up from bronze? Do I really have explain why that’s a bad idea? Both good and awful players have to spend FAR longer playing wildly uneven games to finally grind their way up to a rank that matches them with people of similar competency. That is boring and pointless for Onyx/Champ players and extremely frustrating for the unfortunate bronze player who gets matched with people who should be in Onyx. That isn’t useful or fun for anyone involved. Maybe the placing criteria need tweaking, but removing them in favor of a grind all the way from Bronze is a completely awful idea.

Well putting people up to Onyx and Diamond for playing Mediocre was also stupid.
Everyone should have started from Bronze the beginning. So no system will be perfect, but I think a rank reset is the right thing to do.
It will sort itself out eventually.
I would love to reset the ranks! Get a fresh start!
I say and continue to say that the ranking system has got to be one of the worst ever. A single individual should not have to depend on other randoms to get to rank up. I fully understand that win/loss should matter to a certain degree. But not to the amount it currently does. After all if we are properly matched most peoples win/loss ratio should be near 1 plus or minus a tenth. It is my opinion that rank should consist of K/D + W/L + XP +Gun accuracy + Average Grenade kills per game. If properly matched, the W/L and K/D would level out over time and XP would eventually hit max level. However gun Accuracy and average grenade kills will still separate the good from the bad.

Hello again, Not sure about you , but I continue to experience playing wildly uneven games. I’m a gold 2. at least the last 5 or 5 matches proably more show I’m being matched against platinum and others as low as unranked. The whole ranking system is majorly flawed. And now the popluation is so low that it can’t properly match people in something as simple as 4 vs 4 slayer. Go look at my last few games. You will see Platinums and silvers and unranked AND team balance is horrible.
The ranks resetting at some point (maybe some sort of season?), and possibly having some sort of revamp in the way of how people are placed into them would be great, it would be nice to have a more balanced and accurate ranking style.
They are supposed to be reset soon aren’t they?

You mean where people boosted for their fake 50s?
Do people realize that being unranked does not equate to a player being a “noob”?
The system in place matches players of like skill. Thus, during the ranking process, unranked players play against those they would have played as a ranked player, and the system finds the proper location. Finishing 4/5th consistently against higher player levels places you in the midpoint of that level. How is this such a difficult concept?
Being a win/loss based system, many higher level players would be stuck in the bronze tier by being matched with other actual bronze players. This system would ruin people searching without a team, which is already hindered by being matched against teams.
